Systems Engineer Staff

Description:The selected candidate will serve as a Technical Leader responsible for providing technical leadership to a team of engineers to ensure successful execution to cost, schedule, and work product commitments. The Engineer will lead a team of engineers skilled in DevSecOps methodologies, tools and technologies. The team is responsible for providing a Continuous Integration & Deployment pipeline to support ground based logistics systems. Duties will include:
• Ensuring operational best practices by working closely with the deployment/releasing teams.
• Leading a team responsible for transitioning organizations from agile and waterfall methodologies to DevSecOps processes and tools.
• Implementing automation technologies and tools across the software development lifecycle from requirements to development to testing and operations
• Serve as a resource to multiple teams (dev, I&T, and ops) to resolve issues on mission-critical systems
• responsibility for enhancing and maintaining telemetry in support of monitoring tool suites throughout code and infrastructure
• collaborate with Senior Managers and First Line managers to plan and execute personnel assignments to match staffing demands
• drive technical excellence, affordability, and continuous improvement while supporting program execution and adherence to engineering development processes, and promoting focus on customer value
• employing Agile development principles and techniques while providing guidance to the design, development, documentation, and testing of a large, complex, logistics software product
• leader duties may include product ownership/management, escalation and removal team impediments, and management of risk

EngineeringAeronautics
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree or above in a technical discipline.
• Expertise in DevSecOps methodologies and technologies

• Ability to design, build, and operate a technology stack

• Proven experience in Test Driven Development (TDD), Agile and DevSecOps methodologies

• Significant experience in leading a product or development team

• Strong experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Powershell, Ruby, Bash, etc.

• Proven effective cross-functional leadership skills (prior leadership experience)

• Cyber Security training and experience developing secure code to protect applications from attack.

• Proven technical leadership skills with ability to lead a multidisciplinary team

• A strong technical background in Systems engineering or related field
Desired Skills:
• Experience with F-35 ALIS and AIAF tooling

• Proven experience identifying waste and creating business strategies for automating & improving processes

• Experience developing detailed plans in support of technical assignments

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Comfort planning and executing within a continuous integration and delivery environment

• Experience with Jenkins, Atlassian and GitLab

• System administration experience in Linux

• Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift, etc

• Excellent verbal and collaboration skills

• Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Powershell, Ruby, Bash, etc.

• System administration and experience working in a lab environment and scripting languages: Shell, Perl, Python

• Experience working in technical teams across a virtual environment

• Experience working logistics programs development through sustainment

• Integration and test experience with large complex software systems
