This requisition is for a System Administrator to support the National Cyber Range (NCR) program in Orlando, FL. The System Administrator will implement servers and clients, configure operating systems, services, applications, storage, virtualization, and custom software in support of test, training, and cybersecurity evaluations of DoD systems and associated computing environments. Tasks include implementing and testing software from various DoD environments, implementing services and architectures to support the execution of test events, and assisting with the advancement of other services and capabilities offered at the NCR. The system admin will also support the Range Operations component of the NCR and perform tasks to maintain the operations of servers and infrastructure within the NCR datacenter.
Basic Qualifications:
- MIS/IT Degree or relevant experience
- Solid understanding of server administration, server architecture, specifications, software, networking, virtualization, etc.
- Hands-on experience administering servers, desktops, thin-clients, , including industry standard vendor hardware such as Dell, HP, and Oracle.
- Experience with common industry operating systems such as Windows, Server 2008-16, Linux, Solaris, RHEL, etc.
- Understanding of networking protocols, securing and hardening operating systems and software to meet DoD requirements.
- Self-starter with a desire to solve problems.
- Team player looking to both learn and train team members on systems administration concepts and practices.
Desired Skills:
- System administration experience in DoD environments, including requirements analysis, design, hardware evaluation, configuration, and test of custom software and configurations.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+, Network+, and other relevant certifications, Microsoft, Linux, Oracle, and VMWare.
- Familiarity with both hardware-based networking as well as virtualized platforms and capabilities.
- Scripting skills/experience (including Python, Linux shell, Java, PowerShell +, then Java/C++/Perl for other I&T)
- Email Services, Exchange, Chat, DNS and Active Directory experience
- TS/SCI DoD Security Clearance
