Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Thermal Analysis Mechanical Engineer to join the team in Orlando, FL. Candidate will be a member of the hardware engineering team and be responsible for the development of mechanical, structural, optical, thermal and electronic systems and assemblies.

Responsible for research and development of viable thermal and structural solutions for systems and components.

Experienced with relevant analytic tools for thermal and structural analysis.

Create and correlate analytical models to provide guidance for product development.

Functions also include performance, structural and thermal tests and measurements.

Reports and documents product structural and thermal performance.

Assesses design merits with regard to product specification and reliability.

Works with materials and parts suppliers, including plastics, composites, wrought and cast metals, ceramics, additive materials, fans, blowers, heat-sinks, and thermal interface materials..

Where can you get to from Orlando?
Orlando is about an hour's drive from Cocoa Beach and the "Space Coast" to include NASA and the Kennedy Space Center.

Tampa is about 1 and ¼ hours from Orlando.

West Palm Beach is about 2.5 hours to the south and Jacksonville is about 2 hours to the northeast.

Atlanta, GA is 6 hours to the northwest.

Basic Qualifications:
MUST be a U.S. Citizen currently hold an Active Department of Defense Secret Clearance with a closed investigation (or re-investigation) within 5 years.

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering (or related field) with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Thermal Engineering or Thermal Analysis with knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics.

Experience with CFD solvers, preferably FloEFD 15 (or higher) OR other comparable CFD pre/postprocessors.

Experience with FEM solvers, preferably Siemens NX 10 Thermal Suite (or higher) OR other comparable FEM pre / postprocessors.
Desired Skills:
Proficiency in active thermal control hydraulics and refrigeration, as it relates in the Aerospace sector.

Thermal test planning and execution skills.

Demonstrated strength in either thermal analysis with a desire to learn more.

Demonstrated strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills for generating test plans, test reports, documentation and potentially proposals are necessary.

Mature computer skills are required, including proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience with FORTRAN style input decks OR other comparable computer language.

Experience with ablative thermal protection systems.
