At Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS), we understand that sometimes we must pause our professional life to support our family and loved ones. After stepping away from the workplace to care for children, aging parents or other family obligations, the road to return to work can be challenging, and at times intimidating. This is where Chapter Next can be part of your solution.

Chapter Next is a 12-16 week paid returnship hosted by RMS. Candidates who have taken an employment hiatus for at least 2+ years will be eligible to apply to this program.

During this returnship participants will become part of a community of similarly experienced professionals with challenging work scopes that contribute to the great innovation produced by Lockheed Martin. Selected candidates will be exposed to comprehensive training, professional development opportunities, networking opportunities, and individual based mentoring

Our goal is to provide the fundamental tools needed to be successful in your career field, and to potentially prepare you for an opportunity to join Lockheed Martin full-time. Fields of focus will be diverse across the program and include functional and technical opportunities.

This returnship position is as Software Quality Engineer and will be located in Orlando, Florida.

Reporting to the Engineering Quality Assurance (EQA) Center of Excellence (COE) Manager the selected individual will contribute to the EQA COE organization in the following ways:

• Provide direct support of the EQA COE team on RMS programs by assisting in systems/software engineering product reviews, process evaluations, test witness and similar QA related functions
• Provide support of the EQA COE Management team with assistance in data analysis, metrics generation & with the corrective action process
Basic Qualifications:
• Basic understanding of Quality Engineering and/or related discipline processes.
• Basic understanding of software languages (coding is not a requirement, but ability to follow the logic of the coding algorithm is required)
• Strong Business Acumen including effective oral, written and presentation skills
• Strong analytical skills and report development, metric and trend analysis
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel) experience
• Organized and detail oriented, able to handle multiple tasks concurrently
Desired Skills:
• Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of quality engineering experience
• Knowledgeable of software development lifecycles such as Agile Development
• Knowledgeable of Lean/Six Sigma principles
• Experienced with code and peer reviews
• Experienced with process auditing
• Experienced reviewer of technical documentation
• Experienced root cause analysis practitioner
• Experienced performing corrective and preventative actions
• Experienced working with a military customer
