Mechanical Engineer CAD Associate Manager / Orlando, FL

Description:The CAD Associate Manager will focus primarily on supporting users with ME Design tool questions. The primary tools are PC CREO, PTC Windchill, and Dassault CATIA. This individual will provide user support for these applications and work with IT to resolve issues.

Primary Responsibilities
½ time will be working for functional on OH in the CAD manager role. ½ time will be spent on program funded efforts. Expert knowledge in Catia, Creo, and WindChill required, with experience in CREO/CATIA/WindChill customization. In depth knowledge of the ASME Y14.5 and Y14.41 Standard for CAD. Assist startup programs in developing a CAD modeling plan based on the contracts MIL-STD-31000A TDP customization worksheet. Sound knowledge of I.T., and how downstream users consume digital design data. Position requires communication with Design teams and Management regarding issues and implementation status. Providing/organize/develop training on CAD techniques, best practices and software. Work with a CAD manager working group to development/revise of CAD Standards and best practices.

Secondary Responsibilities:
Providing recommendations to the department and business leadership on usage of CAD/PLM tools (specifically Creo/CATIA and WindChill) Applicant should be interested in process/product improvement and the development of cutting-edge engineering processes. Coordinate with counterparts in other LM divisions to identify best practices Supporting maintenance and improvement of the CAD design/drafting process. Document best practices and enforced CAD/CAM standardization. Regularly attend/run user group meetings for CAD/CAM/PLM software. Composed company manuals/training for design procedures and trained new designers. Support review of software and processes to detect deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement. Build relationships between Design, Analysis, CM, Prod-Ops and Design Data customers. The CAD Manager will mentor and support CAD designers to achieve program requirements. Be a representative for division users on Corporate and cross divisional efforts. Grow the talent pipeline- mentor and coach junior drafting staff to enhance their professional development. Understand CAD-tool road maps to manage complex product architectures and reuse strategies. Creates the engineering tool strategy for the company that can interface with all business enterprises - Executes that strategy Mentoring the group in the develop engineering and/or design applications to automate repetitive tasks & embed engineering design requirements. Develop and expand personal expertise in CAD applications and ME tools.

Jacksonville is about 2 hours to the northeast.
-Atlanta, GA is 6 hours to the northwest.

MFCREFER - Design/Cleared
Basic Qualifications:
-Candidates must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.

-Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university OR equivalent experience with combined education.

-Minimum of 9 years (with Bachelor's Degree) professional / hands-on experience creating system level CAD models, drawing generation.

-Expert knowledge in Catia, Creo, and WindChill required, with experience in CREO/CATIA/WindChill customization.

-Knowledge of GD&T is required.

-Experience with all aspects of mechanical design, including layout and design documentation.
Desired Skills:
-Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

-Experience in EO/IR/Missile system design program is preferred.

-Previous LMC experience and or LM tool usage is a plus.
