Description:You will be the Senior Technical Publications Writer for the Technical Publications team. Our team is responsible for developing and maintaining maintenance technical publications, testing procedures, and troubleshooting documentation that supports system sustainment, production, maintenance, and customer readiness.

What You Will Be Doing
As the Senior Technical Publications Writer, you will be responsible for translating engineering and vendor design information into clear, accurate, and usable maintenance technical publications. You’ll develop testing and troubleshooting procedures in accordance with engineering requirements, company standards, customer standards, and contract requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing, updating, and maintaining maintenance technical publications that support production, sustainment, and field/depot maintenance activities.
• Creating testing and troubleshooting procedures in accordance with engineering design, vendor information, company standards, customer standards, and contract requirements.
• Acquiring subject matter knowledge by interviewing product developers, engineers, technicians, and other key stakeholders.
• Observing production methods, maintenance activities, and system performance to ensure procedures accurately reflect real-world operations.
• Researching technical specifications, blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, acceptance test procedures, engineering models, and drawings.
• Translating complex technical data into clear, concise, and accurate procedural documentation for maintainers and technicians.
• Coordinating with engineering, production, quality, logistics, and customer stakeholders to verify technical accuracy and completeness.
• Supporting technical reviews, validation activities, and documentation updates to ensure publications remain compliant, current, and effective.
• Ensuring all technical publications align with applicable company standards, customer requirements, and contractual obligations.
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience using standard technical authoring tools and programs, including Arbortext, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Nuance.
• Bachelor’s degree in an aviation-related field, logistics, technical communication, engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent professional, military, or technical experience.
• 2–5 years of experience in technical writing, logistics, maintenance documentation, sustainment support, or a related field.
• Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple documentation priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to interpret and work from technical specifications, engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, acceptance test procedures, and related technical data.

Desired Skills:
• Experience in logistics, maintenance planning, military aviation, weapons systems, or a combination of related technical support disciplines.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, accurate, and usable documentation.
• Familiarity with technical authoring languages and specifications, including XML, SGML, and the S1000D specification.
• Experience working with engineers, product developers, technicians, vendors, and customer representatives to gather, verify, and validate technical content.
• Knowledge of maintenance technical publications, troubleshooting procedures, testing procedures, and sustainment documentation.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
