Flight Simulation Engineer/ F-16 SME

- F-16 subject matter expert (SME) for the Networked Training Center (NTC), an F-16 simulation and training facility.
- Develop, implement and test mission profiles and setups for air-to-air, air-to-ground and Close Air Support (CAS) missions in the NTC. Develop scripted Joint Terminal Air Control (JTAC) calls.
- Provide technical battle management support for Air Force Instructor Pilots, and direct operators and controllers during execution of training missions. May provide backup ground control intercept or JTAC radio call.
- Support work with site Development and Engineering team performing a variety of analytical reviews for visual display system, flight model performance and aerodynamics.
- Work as interface with other Luke pilot training organizations and the Air Force Reserve Command (Mesa). May involve coordination of scheduling, testing/evaluations, simulator certifications, syllabus flow and modifications, discrepancy resolution.
- Work as subject matter expert for aircraft systems, cockpit operations, Instructor Operation/Master Control Station (IOS/MCS) operations, and training trends. May act as project lead for a variety of related system upgrades
- Support new technology integration into NTC simulators.
- Avionics expert in various F-16 Operation Flight Programs (OFPs). Able to work with software development team evaluating code development and providing input to correct deficiencies.
Basic Qualifications:
- Fighter pilot; graduate of an F-16 flying Formal Course (Basic or Transition)
- F-16 military aviation experience
- F-16 flying currency within the past five years
- Instructor pilot
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. (background investigation within the past 10 years from employment start date)
Desired Skills:
- Bachelors degree
- 7 years F-16 experience or 4 years F-16 with 10 years total military aviation
- Targeting Pod qualified
- Link-16 fighter-net familiarity
- Helmet Mounted Cueing System familiarity
- F-16 Formal Training Unit Instructor Pilot
