What You Will Be Doing
As the Facilities Design and Construction Manager you will be responsible for directing all phases of design and construction projects, from concept through completion, and serving as the primary liaison with local building and fire officials.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, estimator, and contractors to deliver projects up to $50M on schedule and within budget.
- Oversee the on-site A/E contractor and Construction contractor
- Ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code and other regulatory requirements.
- Create and execute strategic plans for renovation, expansion, and new construction efforts.
- Provide facility input for Programs and Functional teams to support their business.
- Manage resource allocation, staffing assignments, and performance expectations.
- Identify technical issues, propose solutions, and communicate impacts on cost, schedule, and scope.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and methods of facilities layout, design,
engineering, construction and/or management.
Experience designing, planning and
implementing small to large-scale recapitalization projects.
Track record of successful budgeting and cost control of design services contracts and budgets in the millions of dollars.
Basic understanding of laboratory,
factory/manufacturing/assembly, and office space requirements.
Proficient knowledge and experience in the use of project management concepts to include:
project schedule, scope, cost, risk and
deliverables.
Experience providing high quality customer service.
History of driving engineering and construction project scope and cost reductions. Demonstrated ability to identify, implement and sustain standard processes.
Experience building and sustaining high performing integrated teams and demonstrated effective team leadership.
Experience in hiring and training personnel.
Desired Skills:
Minimum of 12 years of related experience with 5 of those years being in management along
with the appropriate degree.
Highly desired candidate have an active Professional Engineering or Architectural License and be able to be registered in the State of Florida.
Must have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Possesses or has ability to obtain nationally
recognized Facilities and/or Construction
Management credentials (e.g. certified General Contractor, IFMA, LEED, PMP).
Ten years experience in Facilities and/or Construction Management.
Experience interfacing with Orange County Building and/or Fire Department on all
construction permitting aspects.
Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management degree.
Large facility construction project and design experience.
Knowledge of federal OSHA, ADA, building code regulations.
Equipment commissioning experience.
Experience using CAD software.
Demonstrated ability to read and execute engineering drawings and specifications.
Experience in preparation of design and construction cost estimates.
Demonstrated experience preparing and
maintaining outline milestone and detailed Gantt chart schedules.
Experience facilitating utility service provider design and installation.
Risk management experience. Cost spend projections. Lien law compliance. Dispute resolution with suppliers. Effective change management.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
