You will be the Environmental Waste Treatment Operator for the Environmental Services Team. Our team is responsible for operating and maintaining industrial wastewater treatment and environmental control systems that ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.



What You Will Be Doing


As the Environmental Waste Treatment Operator you will be responsible for managing wastewater pre‑treatment facilities, closed‑loop process water systems, and a variety of pollution‑control equipment.


Your responsibilities will include:



  • Operate, inspect, adjust, and monitor wastewater treatment and scrubber equipment in accordance with O&M manuals.

  • Collect, label, and containerize hazardous and non‑hazardous solid waste per RCRA requirements.

  • Perform on‑site sampling and wet‑chemistry testing (pH, conductivity, spectrometry) to verify compliance with ISO 14001 and federal standards.

  • Generate daily and weekly equipment logs, checklists, and compliance reports.

  • Serve on the emergency response team and respond to chemical spills (HAZWOPER trained).

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN – This position is located at a facility that requires special access.


Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum three years of equivalent work experience.
• Must have the ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic and algebra commonly used in wastewater treatment industry.
• Proficient use of computers and other systems to access, maintain and input data.
• Must have the ability to follow standard test procedures and operate analytical instruments and precision test equipment, such as atomic emission spectrometer, pH meter, and conductivity meter.
• Must possess knowledge sufficient to allow interpretation of chemical compatibility, safety hazard, and other handling information found in safety data sheets (SDS), and other reference documents to allow segregation of hazardous materials for lab-packing, shipment and treatment of hazardous and non-regulated waste.
• Must have an understanding of physical and chemical characteristics of waste streams, can perform and interpret laboratory analyses for evaluation and adjustment of processes and equipment.
• Must have the ability to troubleshoot problems and abnormalities in the receiving waste stream and the treatment process.
• Must have the ability to comprehend and follow safety procedures.
Desired Skills:
• AS degree in environmental science with an emphasis on chemistry is desired.
• Prior experience with performing laboratory analyses in accordance with site specific standard operating procedures (SOPs), and performing preventive and corrective maintenance to environmental systems pumps, pipelines, valves, and simple process equipment.
• RCRA hazardous waste management certification.
• Knowledge of industrial wastewater treatment plant operations and familiar with automated PLC system and HMI interface.
• HAZWOPER certification.
• State Industrial Wastewater Pretreatment Operator Certification.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
