Digital Transformation Chief Systems Architect

Description:The Digital Transformation Chief Systems Architect (CSA) is responsible for defining the technical vision and enterprise architecture for the digital transformation of Lockheed Martin (LM). The CSA works closely with the Digital Transformation Program (Digital Transformation) Chief Systems Engineer, Program Management Office (PMO), and Enterprise Information Technology organization to define, organize, integrate, and execute the digital transformation initiatives across Enterprise Operations (EO) and the LM business areas. The CSA will serve as the senior technical authority across the entire Engineering Systems Domain, which includes Systems Architecture, Systems Engineering, Systems Implementation, and Project/Systems Management. The CSA will provide technical engineering direction and oversight across the Digital Transformation Value Streams, Emerging Operations Technologies, Program Engagements, and Digital Enablement.
A primary focus area for the CSA is the Digital Transformation enterprise system of systems (SoS) architecture. The CSA will oversee the content structure, organization, governance, and management/maintenance approach for the SoS architecture, including the definition of associated processes, standards, and tool frameworks. Additionally, the CSA will work with Digital Transformation leadership to ensure efficient and effective architecture governance, portfolio management, and communications.

Responsibilities Include: • Serves as the senior technical authority on the Digital Transformation Program, and provides technical oversight and coordination across the Value Streams, Emerging Operations Technology, and EIT infrastructure portfolios.
• Participates as a core member of the Digital Transformation Program leadership team and governance boards, with signature authority at the Engineering Review Board (ERB), Configuration Control Board (CCB), and Risk and Opportunity Management Board (ROMB).
• Establishes and manages the SoS architecture and agile engineering approach for Business Transformation and the Digital Transformation Program.
• Drives the adoption of the Digital Transformation Program reference architectures and serves as the focal point for the A-Board for reference architecture approvals and enforcement.
• Coordinates with the BA Digital Transformation Offices, BA leads, and BA architects to communicate the enterprise SoS architecture and align with BA priorities for successful technology transition.
• Provides Lean/Agile coaching, oversight, and support to Digital Transformation Program and BA-related teams.
• Collaborate with the Value Stream teams to shape the technical solutions appropriately, ensuring a fully integrated approach across the portfolio and the EIT infrastructure.
• Guide the Digital Transformation Program Manager and Chief Systems Engineer on technologies and partnerships of interest.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master's degree from an accredited college in a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Considered a subject matter expert and technical authority in Digital Transformation disciplines, including - systems engineering, production operations, logistics and sustainment, and enterprise information technology.
• Demonstrated successful experience with leading large teams on enterprise-scale technical initiatives.
• Professional credentials and certifications as an expert in systems architecture development, either internally with LM’s Architect Development and Qualification Program (ADQP) or externally with an organization like INCOSE, with demonstrated program experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills with audience-appropriate translation (technical to non-technical, vice versa), and demonstrated experience briefing the highest levels of company and customer organizations.
Desired Skills:
• Demonstrated experience as a Full Spectrum Leader, with success energizing teams, openly collaborating, and enabling their best performance.
• Demonstrated expertise in state of the art of emerging Industry 4.0 technologies, tools and capabilities.
• Experience with Agile DevOps methodologies, practices, and infrastructure.
• Ability to travel for broad business area facilitation and team interaction is required (approximately 25% of the time).
• Demonstrated experience with cloud migration and hosting, including experience with Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) integration brokers.
• Demonstrated experience as an expert in software development, leveraging Agile DevOps practices for Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD).
• Successful experience with both program and technical management disciplines, including management of cost, schedule, performance, and resources.
• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a high-performing virtual team, including self-motivation, strong work ethics, efficient time management, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience facilitating a diverse group of technical professionals to collaborate on common solutions.
• Security Clearance: it is desired that the candidate possesses either an active Department of Defense Secret (or above), or Department of Energy L clearance.
