Description:Lockheed Martin Corporation's Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) business is in search of an astute professional to join our team in Orlando, FL. The DevOps software engineer will support all phases of the software development lifecycle (design, code, and test). The engineer will leverage RMS software engineering processes and procedures while performing their respective engineering activities.

In this important role the software engineer will collaborate with other engineering disciplines and program personnel. Keeping up-to-date on emerging technologies and tools is mandatory.

The successful candidate will be flexible, motivated, dedicated, detail-focused, team-oriented, capable of multi-tasking, and have an strong software development background.

The Locale: Orlando is a city in the Central Florida area. Central Florida is a great place to live with lots of attractive residential housing available. The Greater Orlando metropolitan area is the sixth largest metro area in the southeastern United States. The climate here is warm and sunny all year long for the most part. Orlando is home to the University of Central Florida (UCF), Walt Disney World, and SeaWorld. Where can you get to from Orlando? Orlando is about an hour's drive from Cocoa Beach and the "space coast" to include NASA and the Kennedy Space Center. Tampa is about 1 and ¼ hours from Orlando. West Palm Beach is about 2.5 hours to the south and Jacksonville is about 2 hours to the northeast.
Basic Qualifications:
Basic qualifications for this role will include a Bachelor's level degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Development, or related technical field and two years of professional experience. An applicable educational background in software systems and software development techniques is required. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required.

Proficiency in Object Oriented Programming (OOP) using C++, C#, and/or Java is required. Should be knowledgeable of other programming and scripting languages and understand when/how to use them. Previous software development experience integrating third party libraries, middleware, and/or open source software is required. Should understand agile software development business rhythms and associated tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence). Should be familiar with various Integrated Development Environments (e.g. Visual Studio, Eclipse) and associated version control tools (e.g. GIT, Subversion). Required to have working experience with build automation tools (e.g. Jenkins).

The ability to be flexible, motivated, dedicated, detail-focused, and team-oriented is required. The ability to multi-task is required. Strong interpersonal skills are required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. The ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment is required.
