Description:This position is for a data architect within Lockheed Martin (LM) Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) Analytics Center of Excellence (ACE) supporting the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS).

The work location can be any major Lockheed Martin facility; full-time telecommuters will also be considered.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Exhibits a degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness when designing and implementing effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve data while working as part of an team
* Assess stakeholder requirements and identify required structural design elements for databases and other data storage systems
* Apply best practices for modeling data for analysis and advanced analytics use cases and coach other team members to learn these best practices
* Recommend solutions to improve new and existing data storage systems
* Collaborate with data engineers and data analysts to develop solutions across the entire data processing pipeline
* Implement data warehouses and data lakes
* Oversee migration of data from legacy systems to modern solutions
* Be a technical leader and educate emerging staff members through training and individual support
* Facilitate processes as analytics team master
* US Citizenship required
Basic Qualifications:
* US Citizenship
* Demonstrated experience in data modeling, data transformations, and data mining
* Strong analytical skills and understanding of data warehouses, data elements and application software solutions to optimize data gathering and analysis
* Understands the data lifecycle and can interpret and communicate the state of data throughout the processing pipeline
* Proven experience in data analysis and data management
* Expertise in developing data warehouse solutions
* Demonstrated experience using performance tuning and query optimization techniques
* Experience in methodologies
* Must have strong problem-solving skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to document technical solutions in support of standards and best practices
* A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or other relevant area
Desired Skills:
* Experience working with virtual teams
* Prior Aerospace & Defense industry experience
* Experience applying Kimball star schema and snowflake schema data modeling methodologies to new data warehouses and refactoring existing data warehouses to implement data modeling best practices
* Experience processing and analyzing a mixture of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
* Experience with relational database products such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySql, PostgreSQL, AWS Aurora, etc.
* Experience with distributed data platforms, such as Hadoop, AWS EMR, etc.
* Experience with data analytics and/or visualization tools, such as Tableau, BusinessObjects, Clik, MicroStrategy, Power BI, SAP HANA, AWS RedShift, etc.
* Knowledge of Continuous Integration/ Continuous Development practices
* Understanding of data governance, data security, and data quality
* Domain knowledge in business performance management and earned-value management
* Understanding of data governance and data quality
* A Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or other relevant area
