Description:Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, Training and Logistics Solutions, the successful candidate creates proactive, engaging communications products to connect with approximately 4,500 employees. He or she directly assists with executive communications, internal information and community engagement activities for the TLS communities across the United States. This individual supports other projects as required by business demands.

This position develops innovative strategies to connect with internal audiences and advance engagement. The communicator also will lead programs in our communities to position Lockheed Martin as an employer of choice and good neighbor.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work with TLS Communications leader in supporting all TLS VP and GM communications efforts with internal and external audiences including writing, presentation, video and media interview preparation.
• Develop editorial content supporting the TLS story to the Lockheed Martin workforce and to educate employees on key strategic initiatives by leveraging the internal news website insideLM and other internal vehicles.
• Engage employees through credible, reliable, measurable communications programs supporting business objectives.
• Ensure employee communication content is aligned with Join the Journey, RMS’ cultural transformation initiative.
• Provide leaders with information helping them communicate effectively with their teams.
• Coordinate internal and community relations efforts in Orlando in collaboration with RMS and MFC executing “LM Orlando 2023” efforts as community engagement lead.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships within the functional teams as necessary to develop communications plans and materials.
• Coordinate with program communicators to ensure business successes are recognized by the business.
• Support Lockheed Martin, RMS/TLS social media efforts as required
Basic Qualifications:
• Exceptional writing, editing, video and oral communications skills with the ability to convey highly complex information in clear, compelling ways.
• Ability to cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and leaders.
• Ability to plan, organize and support employee and organizational events, executive communications, marketing and media events. Ability to handle multiple priorities under deadlines.
• Excellent strategist with keen creative instincts and expertise influencing colleagues and leadership thinking in strategic employee communication and engagement.
• Ability to collect and interpret metrics to influence strategic direction in communications plans.
• Exceptionally motivated self-starter who performs independently and works effectively under competing priorities and tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with new communications trends and industry techniques.
• Quick study with an attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Desired Skills:
• Minimum of four years’ experience working in the Communications field with a related degree is desired.
• Prior experience writing internal communications, including writing for the web, video production or internal and external audiences and a strong understanding of AP style.
• Excellent strategist with keen creative instincts and expertise influencing leadership thinking in strategic communication and change management.
• Motivated self-starter who performs without appreciable direction and works effectively under competing priorities and tight deadlines.
• Proven quick study with an attention to detail and a sense of urgency, strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Familiarity with contemporary communications trends and industry techniques, including social media and visual storytelling.
• Understanding of analytics and analysis to influence strategic decisions and direction.
