Description:About the Role:
This position is for the Longbow Fire Control Radar (FCR) Chief Engineer role in the Rotary Wing Sensors (RWS) program area. The successful candidate will report to the RWS Chief Engineer programmatically. This role will work closely with the other members of the Precision Strike Sensors Chief Engineer staff to ensure synergy across programs and to communicate lessons learned. You will also work closely and be the primary POC for the FCR program and customer community.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Longbow FCR Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for:
• Drive technical delivery to meet all Longbow FCR development and production milestones on schedule.
• Partner with the U.S. Government (USG) customer, providing technical guidance and architecting radar solutions that satisfy warfighter requirements.
• Cultivate a productive, trusted relationship with the USG customer throughout the program lifecycle
• Guide IPT leads and cross functional teams in program planning, scheduling, trade study execution, design concept development, verification, and critical lifecycle reviews.
• Validate staffing from an Engineering & Technology (E&T) perspective to ensure the team is adequately resourced
• Collaborate with Engineering Excellence management to guarantee successful milestone execution.
• Lead and support technical reviews, including monthly E&T meetings, staff briefings, and other key program events.
• Document and share lessons learned, fostering synergy across the Chief Engineering organization
Key Responsibilities:
• End to end technical leadership for the production rate increase process.
• Technical leadership for design and development, from system architecture through qualification.
• Develop and execute detailed program plans, schedules, and trade study analyses
• Lead or support customer briefings, weekly IPT status updates, Technical Interchange Meetings, Technical Readiness Reviews, and other critical program reviews
• Participate in Failure Review Boards, Risk, Issue and Opportunity Management, and Mission Success Reviews
• Provide technical review support internally, with the customer, with external stakeholders, and at supplier locations.
Requirements:
• Proven experience steering technical solutions from proposal through all development phases (SRR, PDR, CDR, qualification, system verification & test, FCA, transition to production)
• Initiative and proficiency in providing technical leadership throughout the development process.
• Strong grasp of Full Spectrum Leadership principles (technical, people, business, strategic).
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills

Further Information About This Opportunity:
This position is located in Orlando, FL and will require occasional domestic travel. The position will require on-site work with the ability to flex working hours.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university, with existing professional experience
• Experience in leading Failure Analysis and Failure Review Boards
• Wide experience/familiarity in collaborating with the Engineering & Technology functional organization
• Ability to interface with the USG Customer office and global supply base
• Must be available for occasional domestic travel
• Candidate must have a Secret clearance
Desired Skills:
• An advanced degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is desired
• Prior experience at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is highly desired
• Working knowledge of dealing with subcontractors and subcontract technical management is a plus
• Experience and demonstrated skillset with RADAR systems and design
• Ability to plan and lead the technical efforts associated with RADAR systems
• Ability to support technical reviews internally, with the customer, and external stakeholders, and at supplier locations
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
