Senior Aircraft Mech. Trainer, Pax River, 1st shift

Instruct and supervise students during classroom, shop, laboratory and On-The-Job training. Assign, and check of group involved in training as it pertains to the manufacturing, processing, and maintaining of helicopters, parts, components and processes associated helicopter assembly.

Typical Responsibilities:
Requires extensive knowledge of Sikorsky products, with a working knowledge of aircraft hydraulics, flight controls, structural assembly, electrical and fuel systems.
Instruct employees in proper work methods, use of equipment, safety rules, and quality and quantity standards.
Check work methods and results for conformance to standards and re-instruct as required.
Report to Supervisor on work progress, including conditions surrounding failures to meet quantity and quality standards.
Plans, develops, and implements technical product training programs for Sikorsky employees at field site, as well as, in house hourly employees.
Obtain information needed to assist in preparation of training programs; prepares training materials; designs product demonstrations; develops course content; determines methodology; and coordinates the development of training aids.
Assist in preparation of outlines of training subjects, including materials to be covered, points to be emphasized, and aids to be used.
Maintain records of training activities as well as the progress of the students IAW (in accordance with) departmental and company procedures and FAA regulations.
Conducts training sessions, product demonstrations, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.
Provide content development feedback as required.
Sustain technical training curricula, and all associated record keeping documentation.
Assist with revisions of lesson plans to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.
Follow all rules and regulations pertaining to environmental health and safety.
Segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices.
Refer only unusual conditions to supervisor.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires in-depth knowledge of operation and structure of helicopters, engines, accessories and electrical and hydraulic systems. Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints and specifications and use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments and gages. Knowledge of inspection practices. Familiar with sheet metal fabrication. Equivalent to two years high school plus two to three years trades training and A&P license.
Work from a variety of drawings and specifications and use precision measuring and testing instrument and gages.

Must maintain current certification(s) as required.

4 to 5 years of experience

Additional Information:

This position requires an A&P license. Successful candidate must acquire an A&P license within 90 days of conditional offer acceptance. Failure to obtain an A&P license will result in withdrawal of the conditional offer.

Work will be performed at the customer's facility in Pax River, MD.

• Must be a US citizen.
• Must currently have and/or be capable of obtaining a security clearance.
• Must currently have or be capable of successfully completing an NCIC criminal background check to access Pax NAS.
• Must currently have or be capable of obtaining full unescorted access Pax NAS.
• Must have a valid photo ID (driver's license + social security card or birth certificate OR US passport).
• Must have valid driver's license/vehicle insurance to drive on base at Pax NAS.

This position is dependent upon the anticipated duration of the CH-53K helicopter flight test program through final operational capability, currently planned no earlier than August 2023*. At the conclusion of the CH-53K flight test program, the employee may be offered the opportunity to relocate to the RMS Sikorsky West Palm Beach facility to support future flight test programs, pending business conditions.

*Based on test plan schedule.

This position is a 1st shift position but successful candidate must be willing to work any shift.
