Description:The Flight Test Architect functions as the thought leader for integration and test to develop and drive an overall integration and test strategy for the CH-53K flight test program. The Flight Test Architect works with flight test engineers, modification management team, Chiefs of Flight Test, Test Directors, Flight Operations, Design IPTs, Chief Engineer, and Class Desk to gather details of design changes and test requirements to develop an overall test execution strategy that is aligned with the program IMS. The Architect provides inputs to the Program Management Team, including Control Account Managers and Planning, and Finance to status the progress of the flight test program. Other responsibilities of the position are the creation, maintenance, and overall reporting out of key metrics that is to be presented to the Program Management team and the ITT leadership team on a weekly basis. This requires key skills in software tools to automate the metrics for efficient creation on a frequent basis. The Flight Test Architect collaborates with the Flight Test Team and Design IPTs to lead the development of the overall testing strategy by creating the detailed plan for each test aircraft for the remainder of the SDD contract. The Flight Test Architect conducts quarterly reviews of the test schedule and planning of test events by aircraft for the next three months. This includes conducting working level meetings with engineering, test leadership, and aircraft modification teams to revise the detailed test plan as necessary and determine the most efficient test methodology to demonstration compliance with the specifications. The Flight Test Architect also leads the Quarterly Review briefings to the Flight Test Program Management team and ITT Leadership Team to status the latest completion dates of testing as well as any risks and opportunities, challenges, and help needed.
Basic Qualifications:
The candidate must be able to collaborate with multiple organizations throughout the CH-53K program, providing necessary inputs and requesting information to organize and strategize the overall flight test program plan. This position requires the candidate to have experience in Flight Test Engineering, specifically in planning and execution. The candidate is required to possess a solid understanding of classical flight test methodologies that are necessary to effectively plan a multi hundred-hour flight test program down the flight test event level of detail. The candidate must have project management experience and be very familiar with the earned value management system (EVMS) requirements of a full criteria program to be able to lead Primavera schedule management and coordinate with Cost Account Managers. Experience managing multiple aircraft in development and modification to implement significant and multiple design changes is required. The position requires excellent analytical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills, both written and oral. The candidate must have a keen ability to organize a large amount of information from multiple sources and assemble them in a clear and concise, detailed plan that considers all aspects of the flight test program.

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
