Within the Autonomy Intelligence Maritime Solutions Integrated Engineering (AIMS IE) organization, the Machinery Controls & Automation Products department provides the control system capabilities that enable safe, reliable, and efficient shipboard operations across multiple platforms and customers. What We’re Doing
Within the Autonomy Intelligence Maritime Solutions Integrated Engineering (AIMS IE) organization, the Controls & Automation Products department provides essential control system capabilities that enable shipboard operations across a variety of platforms and customers.
The Work
The Systems Engineer Sr. will be supporting all of the Machinery Controls and Automation programs within RMS.
This position will be responsible for the following:
Performs system integration, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, requirements design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
This position requires the ability to work in an accelerated team environment leading a multi-disciplinary engineering team for the Machinery Controls Product Line.

This position requires the ability obtain and maintain a DoD government clearance at the Secret level.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or STEM related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering.
• Experience with requirements development, understanding of system architecture, integration, and verification.
• Ability to interpret schematics, ICDs, and engineering documentation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Familiarity with MBSE, SysML, Cameo, or digital engineering tools.
• Background in embedded control systems, networks, or real time architectures.
• Experience with hardware/software integration and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Navy systems, DoD acquisition, or maritime platforms.
• Ability to lead technical teams, drive decisions, and manage technical risk.
• Experience developing test plans, verification matrices, and system level documentation.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
