Job Responsibilities

Job ID: 730039BR Date posted: Jun. 04, 2026
Description:WHAT WE'RE DOING

The Lockheed Martin - Global Sustainment: Information Systems and Innovation organization is seeking a high energy professional with a strong background in software engineering, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), platform integration, lifecycle continuity, and artificial intelligence to support Lockheed Martin – Rotary & Mission Systems (RMS). There is a strong emphasis on product portfolios and system design, focusing on a broad range of solutions across the corporation. As a digital thread system architect, there is a need to design and implement interconnected data ecosystems that trace a product's lifecycle from initial requirements through design, manufacturing, sustainment, and support. This bridges the gap between engineering, IT, and operations to ensure seamless data flow across platforms like Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

The selected candidate will focus on the development and design of technologies, digital fibers, and the overall digital thread across the corporation. This will require engagement in every phase of the system development lifecycle including requirements generation, system and software design, development, implementation, integration, and deployment. Activities will range from low TRL research, proof of concepts, development of prototypes, building demonstrators, establishing connections, integrating across solutions, and transition to production.

As a leader, the candidate will be required to facilitate and lead development efforts utilizing next-gen technologies including AI, digital twin, point cloud, robotics, and other IoT solutions. The selected candidate can expect to utilize current AI paradigms including computer vision, deep learning, and reinforcement learning. Must apply advanced concepts to design and develop new complex solutions that grow the corporation.

The selected candidate will be a focal point for LM RMS Global Sustainment and will lead the development and communication of system architecture & requirements, ensuring mission needs are translated into comprehensive system solutions that account for design constraints and technology maturity. These techniques would be applied to solve complex problems and field innovative solutions. The selected candidate will lead major technical development efforts, take ownership of critical tasks, develop new system architectures, mentor junior engineers, brief internal and external customers, and support the capture of new business.

Must exhibit self-motivation, a strong work ethic, time management and interpersonal skills.

The selected candidate can work at any major Lockheed Martin facility or remotely.

• Proficiency working with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and the related integrations between these systems
• Working knowledge of designing systems and architecture and their manufacturing applications
• Experience with DevOps tools: Docker, Git [GitLab, GitHub], Continuous Integration [CI], Continuous Deployment [CD]
