Job Responsibilities
Description:Manage a team of business development professionals responsible for strategy and business growth for the Maritime Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) subsegment of Multi-Domain Combat Solutions (MDCS). The team will lead the development of integrated business and capture strategies to identify and pursue maritime IAMD opportunities under several customer organizations primarily within PEO Integrated Warfare Systems (IWS) and the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The successful candidate will mentor and develop employees on all aspects of the win plan, customer relationship building and capture development.
Support and pursue strategies resulting in advancement of LM’s Integrated Combat System (ICS), Aegis and Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) products, and our combat systems engineering and integration capabilities. Work with the program management team and technical team to advance LM’s surface navy and IAMD combat system capabilities, development of advanced and next generation capabilities, evolution of software development approaches, expansion of Aegis Speed to Capability concepts, retention and evolution of sites development ecosystem, application of ICS/Aegis in new mission areas, implementation of ICS/Aegis in different form factors and virtualized instantiations, and acceleration and modernization of Aegis baselines.
Build a pipeline of new business opportunities, to include qualification, pursuit and re-assessment on an ongoing basis. Champion Maritime IAMD strategic campaigns and initiatives related to achieving the ICS, including a converged, common surface Navy/MDA combat system; adoption of commercial development practices; and development of above-platform Force-level capabilities. Act as “voice of the customer” for business transformation necessary to meet evolved customer expectations. Lead the development of the Maritime IAMD strategic plan, including alignment of investments, pursuit of CRAD, identification of new/disruptive technologies and Congressional campaigns to achieve the strategy.
Build and maintain trusting and productive relationships with customers, influencers and key opinion leaders – including but not limited to the PEO IWS, MDA and the Naval Surface Warfare. Develop strategic business intelligence and relationships with industry peers, non-traditional defense contracts and small business. Work with the program management and finance team to develop the orders LRP/OpPlan. Manage assigned new business funds, including working with Engineering to establish and achieve IRAD objectives. Interface regularly across the LM enterprise to achieve business goals and promote a “One LM” approach – including but not limited to other RMS Lines of Business, other LM Business Areas, LM Government Affairs (LMGA), and the Corporate Engineering and Technology Office (CETO).
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 15 years of experience in business development, capture management, and/or program management. Extensive understanding of Lockheed Martin win plan, capture process, and business development practices. Experience leading competitive pursuits
• Experience supporting customer contact tracking, decision mapping, competitive intelligence and customer assessments.
• Direct experience with US Navy (PEO IWS, NSWC) and MDA organizations
• Understanding of the Aegis architecture, IAMD functionality, capability and development processes
• Demonstrated experience organizing and presenting data to senior/executive management. Communications skills in Power Point, Written media, and verbal presentations.
• Experience in leveraging stakeholder functional organizations: Program Management, Engineering, Sustainment Operations, Contracts, Business Ventures/Offset, and Legal
Desired Skills:
• Established relationships with the LM Maritime IAMD program management teams and relevant customers
• Master’s degree in engineering or business
• Strong understanding of IAMD and naval combat system requirements and operations
• Prior experience interfacing with and briefing senior industry and customer executives.
• Demonstrated experience with business transformation efforts, and engagement/understanding of LM’s Digital Transformation initiative
• Prior leader experience
• Participation in Capture Management Development program
• Understanding of Systems Engineering
• Active Secret Clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $151,200 - $266,570. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
