Manufacturing Supervisor

Description:Supervises employees who put together component parts to make assemblies, subassemblies, or completed units. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
Basic Qualifications:
Management and supervision of hourly unionized personnel.
Familiar with manufacturing/production operations and concepts i.e. shop floor management, program management, production control, quality control, manufacturing and test methods, work center scheduling, developing manpower forecast, and understanding of manpower production rates.
Ability to plan, organize and successfully manage tasks, assignments and projects.
Ability to hold his/her team accountable for performance.
Ability to provide quality well written recurring process reports to senior management.
Must be able to obtain an interim secret DoD security clearance prior to starting this position.
Desired Skills:
Accountable for performance and integration of production assembly operations meeting and/or exceeding commitments.
This position requires demonstrated leadership competencies necessary to influence performance of a diverse workforce.
Excellent communications, presentations, and proactive problem solving and negotiations, conflict resolution skills and ability to achieve success.
Provide direct supervision to diverse assembly and test personnel. Requires excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Understanding of lean six sigma manufacturing concepts and approaches to facilitate continuous process improvement.
