THE WORK
Domestic Vertical Launching System (VLS) team is seeking a self-driven, disciplined leader experienced with successfully delivering complex cross functional projects on schedule within budget. To be successful in this position, the candidate must have the ability to facilitate and drive to closure complex technical/non-technical issues with practical solutions. The candidate must show willingness to dive deep to uncover insights into those issues and their associated solutions. A strong candidate is customer-focused and displays a bias for action in everything they do. The ability to effectively communicate with senior management and other functional departments within the organization is key to success.
Specifically, the role is as the deputy program manager for the MK-41 United States Navy customer responsible for supporting MK 41 VLS module production execution and new business. The deputy program manager role is focused on driving day to day actions to closure including holding the matrixed program team accountable for commitments, facilitating administrative activities such as program measurement and program directives, and providing program direction to the team. The deputy program manager will work closely with the program manager to divide and execute the program workload to successfully delivery USN and FMS VLS modules. The role is a critical team member supporting the broader MK 41 Vertical Launching System franchise for LM.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Executing USN MK 41 VLS module production programs
• Executing FMS MK 41 VLS module production programs
• Executing new business activities including proposals
• Coordinating MK 41 VLS module activities across the enterprise functions
• Managing and supporting a production line
• Managing and supporting Government Furnished Equipment
• Managing a cross functional team across multiple LM sites
• Working with subcontracts to manage key suppliers that have significant scope and impact
The module production deputy program manager acts as an internal and external customer interface for the module production program. The module production deputy program manager executes multiple simultaneous projects including USG contracts, capital projects, and new business funds (NBF) activities.

Basic Qualifications:
• 2-4 years of project management such as deputy PM, CAM, Subcontracts PM, etc.
• Customer interface experience
• Experience with earned value management and risk management
• Experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM)
• Experience in proposal management process
• Knowledge of LM RMS’s program and financial measurements (orders, sales, EBIT and cash)
• Knowledge of DoD contract types (CPFF, FFP, CPIF, etc.)
• Ability to multi-task and coordinate / manage multiple contracts/projects simultaneously
• Cross functional team management
• Strong organizational skills
• Demonstrated self-starter who can take initiative and work independently with minimal direction and oversight
• Ability to travel to domestically
Desired Skills:
• 2-4 years of LM specific program management roles
• Experience with United States Navy customer
• Experience with production projects and DCMA
• Knowledge and/or experience with launcher systems requirements
• Experience with working with major suppliers with significant program scope and schedule
• Data-driven management philosophy including analyzing and understanding project measurements
• Strong written and verbal communications skills with track record of presenting to internal and external customers
• Demonstrated maturity, judgement, negotiation/influence skills, analytical skills, and leadership skills
• Demonstrated track record of delivering results in fluid or ambiguous situations
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $109,200 - $192,510. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
