Have you taken some extended time away from your career in support of family or personal obligations? At Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS), we understand that sometimes we must pause our professional life to support our family and loved ones. After stepping away from the workplace to care for children, aging parents or other family obligations, the road to return to work can be challenging, and at times intimidating. This is where Chapter Next can be part of your solution.

Chapter Next is a 12-16 week paid returnship hosted by RMS. Candidates who have taken an employment hiatus for at least 2+ years will be eligible to apply to this program.

During this returnship participants will become part of a community of similarly experienced professionals with challenging work scopes that contribute to the great innovation produced by Lockheed Martin. Selected candidates will be exposed to comprehensive training, professional development opportunities, networking opportunities, and individual based mentoring

Our goal is to provide the fundamental tools needed to be successful in your career field, and to potentially prepare you for an opportunity to join Lockheed Martin full-time. Fields of focus will be diverse across the program and include functional and technical opportunities.

This returnship position is Intern Program Specialist and will be located in one of the following locations:
• Manassas, VA
• Stratford, CT
• Owego, NY
• Colorado Springs, CO
• Moorestown, NJ

As the Intern Program Specialist for Lockheed Martin’s RMS business area, you will have the opportunity to support the growing RMS Global Talent Acquisition team on all topics related to the Intern programs. You will partner to implement, communicate, enhance, and execute existing programs within the business area in alignment with Lockheed Martin’s strategy for apprenticeship programs including high school programs, technical school programs, veteran programs and more.
The selected individual will contribute to the RMS Global Talent Acquisition organization in the following ways:

• Work with the team management to innovate the RMS Summer Intern program
• Innovate program efforts for RMS Co-Op programs
• Focus on creating a quality experience for interns and influencing intern conversions to full time hires
• Enhance Lockheed Martin’s commitment to inclusion and diversity through specialized programs
• Manage to budget, both with direct spend and driving others to document allocated intern spend
• Engage effectively with stakeholders
• Build relationships across departments and locations
• Enhance Lockheed Martin’s commitment to inclusion and diversity through specialized programs
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
• Advanced experience with MS Office tools including Excel and PowerPoint
• 2 + years experience in a Talent Acquisition or HR organization
Desired Skills:
• 2 + years experience in a Talent Acquisition or HR organization
• Strong Business Acumen including effective oral, written and presentation skills
• Strong analytical skills and report development, metric and trend analysis
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel) experience
• Organized and detail oriented, able to handle multiple tasks concurrently
