Description: Coordinates planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility. Plans and formulates engineering program; reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Evaluates and approves design changes, specification and drawing releases. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.

Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives and approaches to assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective, for desired results.

Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives.

Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.

Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.
Desired Skills: Strong general radar system inclusive of major sub-systems: Antenna, Receiver/Transmitter, signal processor. Desired radar system integration experience as well as calibration and performance tests of same (as well as the sub-assemblies). Strong specific radar /technical understanding/knowledge of the RF/Microwave components, RF sub-assemblies and RF antenna (particularly phased array antennas).

Knowledge in the attributes of transmit power, receive gain and noise figure and how the measurements and characteristics of these parameters impact radar performance. TR module theory, design familiarity ,performance measurement and experience a necessity.

Familiarity with MMIC based technology in the areas of design, assembly, and test.

Extensive test and measurement background inclusive of very accurate measurement techniques for power, phase, noise figure and other crucial RF parameters.

Extensive understanding and preferred background in production test environment. Thorough understanding/appreciation of manufacturing demands/expectations. Includes emphasis on automation, robotics.
Basic Qualifications: 10+ Years of RF Measurement experience in the microelectronics production environment

Experience with automation in the test environment.

Communication and presentation skills and a practical knowledge of basic software packages such as Microsoft Office.

Extensive troubleshooting experience at system to component level as well as analysis of failures and cause at all levels.

Strong leadership skills. Ability to lead technical teams. Required interfacing with many disciplines of the various organizations and levels of management.

Candidate must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to starting this position.
