This position is at the 193d Special Operation Wing in Harrisburg, PA. and part of the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) Air Commando Training Support (ACTS) training Program.

EC-130J Commando Solo / Super-J AMSO (Airborne Mission Systems Operator) Instructor. The selected candidate will be responsible for the ground training utilizing Lockheed Martin ACTS courseware and training systems required for AMSO student qualification and continuation training. Ground instruction will prepare aircrew students for the flying phase of training and evaluation on both versions of the EC-130J, supporting mission operations for the 193d SOW. Instruction will take place in classrooms, on device trainers, and on the aircraft and may be instructor-led, computer-based, or hands-on training modalities. The Instructor will track and report student performance for the training program and 193d SOW as requested. The candidate will also complete VTRAT instruction as needed.

As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), the instructor will review existing courseware products and make recommendations for changes and improvements. The instructor will assist designers in training needs analysis, design, and development of courseware products. The instructor will interface with 193d SOW DOT and OGV personnel to research lesson content, maintain currency with applicable publications and technical orders. Instructor will communicate and coordinate with other instructors, courseware developers, and management to accomplish program-level tasks. This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The instructor performs secondary duties directly related to student training as determined by management. Hiring of Contract Instructors is predicated on demonstrated superior instructional aptitude coincidental with flight experience in C-130 mission design series, specifically the EC-130J Commando Solo / Super-J.
Basic Qualifications:
- Current in U.S. Military Aircraft within previous 4 years or within previous 6 years, if candidate has performed 11 years military operational flying duty at the time of hire, or Contract Instructor with C-130 experience.
- At least one year of previous experience in AFSOC mission aircraft.
- Minimum 800 hours flying time in U.S. military aircraft; minimum 100 hours U.S. military aircraft instructor time.
- Minimum of six months of AMSO Instructor time in U.S. military aircraft, preferably in the EC-130J.
- Working knowledge of current USAF, AFSOC, and ANG regulation is required.
- MS Office Suite skills required.
- Demonstrated effective communicator with team members, customers, and students.
- Possess a minimum of an Associate Degree from an accredited school/college.
- Ability to gain a SECRET clearance is required.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with classroom instruction, flying training, and courseware development / Instructional Systems Design (ISD) experience.
- 1500 hours total flight time.
- 500 hours instructor time.
- 100 hours of EC-130J flight time.
- EC-130J Commando Solo / Super-J mission expertise.
- Operational flight experience with NVGs.
- Formal Training Unit or academic lecture experience highly desired.
- Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree of higher.
- Current SECRET clearance.
- AFSOC ACTS program familiarity is a plus.
