Job Responsibilities

Job ID: 658431BR Date posted: Mar. 25, 2024
Description:We are Lockheed Martin

The story of aviation has always been the story of people who have the courage to fail, to try again and to one day succeed. Since Lockheed Martin’s inception and continuing today, the passion to advance aeronautical design and help our customers achieve mission success has been ingrained in our culture. It is that passion combined with a strategic focus on ever changing global challenges that shapes our path forward.

Candidate will join a Test Planning and Execution Team within an Integration and Test (I&T) Organization responsible for the I&T of Tactical Aviation Vehicle System capabilities. This System Test team operates in a VS context, but may also interface with Mission System teams to solve system-of-system level challenges.

Candidate will spend a majority of their time deployed to multi-disciplinary Agile Team representing the domain of System Test in a team developing Vehicle System capabilities from cradle to grave comprised of members from Systems Engineering, I&T, Hardware SMEs, and SW Development (no domain silos allowed!). Candidate will execute I&T activities in a lab environment, evaluate VS functionality, document results, assist SW Developers and Subsystem SMEs with diagnosis/troubleshooting, and support the constant adherence to a Digital Thread. Candidate will be required to fully embrace and help champion widespread system level test automation. Candidate must also be comfortable operating as a self-sufficient test representative to their cross-functional Agile team on behalf of the entire TP&E team.

In addition to authoring and executing tests, tasks may also include furthering our test automation framework, troubleshooting issues discovered during system test alongside SW developers, learning some high-level scripting languages such as creating behavior-driven test scripts used by Cucumber Test as a tool to achieve an overall objective of a highly-automated test program, integrating/troubleshooting hardware, creating and iteratively evolving brand new processes and methodologies for operating a modern Agile continuous-test program, exploring and integrating Application Program Interfaces (APIs) to support a seamless digital thread from initial requirements through verification/delivery, and will support numerous diverse classified initiatives.

Candidate must be willing to learn new and eclectic technical skills outside of their comfort-zone and be open-minded to diving into whatever technical challenges need attention in their periphery (think “jack-of-all-trades”).

Candidate must also have the communication and leadership ability to assist a team of multidisciplinary engineers to quickly navigate from an envisioned future concept to a comprehensive set of Vehicle Systems-Level test procedures that ensure requirements fulfillment, and SW stability/reliability. External and customer interaction will be required. Candidate must be open-minded to embracing new approaches to continuously integrating, testing, and delivering VS capabilities relative to legacy waterfall programs. Candidate should expect to be asked at times to conduct business in vastly revolutionary ways than to which they are accustomed. Candidate must have strong technical background and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

What’s In It For You: 3 day weekends every weekend! From flexible work schedules to comprehensive benefits investing in your future and security.
