The USW family of programs supports the C6ISR Business Area (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance). The USW programs develop highly innovative systems. These systems demand development of advanced software solutions as well as integration of commercial off the shelf (COTS) hardware interfacing to complex systems.

This Systems Engineer Staff will be part of a highly skilled and diverse team for the Taiwan LEP (Life Extension Program) / IDS (Indigenous Submarine Program) programs at our Manassas, Virginia location. This individual will be responsible developing innovative solutions to address a variety of systems engineering tasks for submarine combat systems including specification development, interface definition, design tasks, and integration.

This Systems Engineer Staff must be able to effectively communicate and interface across the team to address matters that affect execution or performance of the project and provide regular progress status and participate in required program planning.

This Systems Engineer Staff must also participate in the full System Engineering life cycle, including system, software, and hardware requirements development, hardware stand-up, system integration, test definition, test planning, system certification and sell-off, and system delivery and production support.

Must be able to obtain an interim secret clearance prior to start.
Basic Qualifications:
• Previous System Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) experience with submarine / ship combat, SONAR, weapons systems, or equivalent
• Signal processing design and verification experience
• Previous requirements, architecture, or analysis experience
• Experience briefing / teaching technical information to internal and external customers
• Knowledgeable in software programming or scripting languages (e.g. C++, Java, Python, Bash, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience across Systems Engineering Integration and Test program life cycle
• Demonstrated strong leadership, administrative, and interpersonal skills
Desired Skills:
• Demonstrated skills in coordinating with Navy customers, Program Office, and industry partners
• IPT lead / CAM / Team leadership
• Sonar Experience
• Model Based System Design, Test Automation, and Agile development experience
• Experience working with a virtual team
• Application of the overall Systems Engineering process
• Experience with requirements tracking tools
• Knowledgeable in operating system and networking concepts
• Language Chinese Mandarin

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
