With an increased emphasis on the world’s undersea operational environment, Lockheed Martin’s sonar technologies and combat system integration abilities are vital to undersea mission success.

This position supports the Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical System (SWFTS) program – performing engineering & management of various submarine combat subsystems – sonar, radar, communications, weapon control, tactical control, navigation and more. The SWFTS approach has proven to be successful for the US Submarine Force, both technically and from a value for money perspective.

Basic Qualifications:
- Familiarity with SONAR Systems Operations
- Experience developing for SONAR and/or weapons, especially in a submarine environment
- Possess an understanding and ability to apply software engineering principles, theories, and concepts
- Demonstrated experience with system integration, testing, and anomaly resolution
- The ability to work in a collaborative and dynamic team environment with aggressive program schedules
- Demonstrated experience performing software systems integration activities with Naval Systems
- Demonstrated experience coordinating Integration and Test Activities among multiple organizations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong desire for troubleshooting tough problems, with skills in following areas:
-- Agile Experience
-- Virtualization and Containerization Technologies
-- Continuous Integration
-- Software Development Lifecycles
-- Acoustic Processing
-- Network Engineering
-- SONAR, ASW Domain Knowledge
-- Scripting skills
-- Redmine or JIRA experience
Desired Skills:
- Demonstrated ability in software development and software integration activities on medium to large scale programs.
- Familiarity with the Linux Operating System and skills to enable troubleshooting of network configuration and process performance
-- Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, with strong software skills.
