Lockheed Martin is seeking a Embedded Software and FPGA Engineer to work on a cutting-edge team developing embedded systems, SoC, and FPGA solutions targeting the F-35, F-16, and ADP IRADs.
As one of the largest defense contractors in the world, Lockheed Martin is responsible for developing systems and platforms in many exciting domains. This Staff Embedded Software and FPGA Engineer position provides the opportunity to get involved on the ground-floor of exciting new programs, designing and developing new software and hardware components to be integrated into the future F-35, F-16, and ADP mission systems. The ideal candidate for this position would have experience developing C/C++ software for embedded systems and FPGA cores using SystemVerilog, Verilog or VHDL. Candidates with only embedded software experience or FPGA development experience will also be considered. Involvement in all phases of software development is required, i.e. development of software requirements and design documents, project plans, software coding, testing, and training customers on the use of the project. The selected candidate will also likely be involved in various ADP research and development projects.
The team appreciates and applies Agile development principles. The team splits its efforts between research and development projects and the customer-funded projects they spawn. Innovation and creative thinking is highly valued as is leadership and self-motivation. Keeping up with the latest methods, tools, and technologies is important to their success and as such most projects target the latest FPGA devices on the market and training opportunities are often made available."

• Bachelor of Science from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
• Experience with complex electronics and embedded systems, such as FPGA and System on Chips (SoCs)
• Minimum 1 year developing in C/C++
• Experience developing Linux device drivers
• Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required for this position.
• Experience with agile development, configuration management and continuous integration processes and methodologies.
• Experience preparing system architectures and appropriate UML diagrams.
• Experience with Arm and PowerPC BSP creation.
• Strong mentoring skills and experience leading groups.
• Strong technical communication skills (experience communicating technical designs to non-technical customers and communicating customer desires to technical team).
• Experience with industry standard agile development tools, such as Jira and Confluence.
• Understanding of networking and PCIe standards.
• Comfortable working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Ability to adapt well to change, as the working environment has evolving requirements and dynamic schedules.

This position is incentive plan eligibleAbility to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
