THE WORK
The candidate will be the functional leader and First Line Manger (FLM) of the Global Sustainment Technical Publications team located in Liverpool, NY. In the role, the candidate will provide technical and functional leadership to a team of Technical Writing professionals to ensure successful execution to cost, schedule, and quality commitments, as well as adhere to functional overhead targets.

Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organizing, control, integration and completion of Technical Publication efforts for both domestic and international programs within IWSS and C6ISR lines of business.
Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, development plans, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

Collaborates with Logistics Project Managers, Program Mangers, and Engineering Leads to plan and execute personnel assignments to specific phases or aspects of project. Coordinates activities concerned with technical publication development as well as training preparation and course conduct.

Responsible for designing solutions and developing detailed cost estimates and Basis of Estimates for proposal activities with demanding schedules, including competitive proposals, ROMs, and on-contract growth ECPs.
Responsible for driving process improvements and innovative technology into Technical Publications products to drive technical excellence, affordability, and increased customer value.

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience leading teams in completing technical publication work scope.
• Demonstrated experience developing detailed plans in support of technical assignments and budget management.
• Experience with multitasking and leading concurrent efforts across multiple programs.
• Proposal experience designing solutions and developing detailed basis of estimates.
• Demonstrated experience with process improvement activities and developing innovative solutions to difficult problems.
• Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with all levels of management, employees, internal stakeholders, peers, customers, and partnering organizations.
• Strong business acumen, management influence, and whole systems thinking.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to obtain & maintain a secret security clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Experience working in technical teams across a virtual environment.
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and Agile development process.
• Experience with Interactive Electronic Technical Manual development, including S1000D and MIL-STD-2361 / MIL-STD-40051.
• Earned Value Management (EVM) and Control Account Manager (CAM) experience.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $122,900 - $216,660. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $141,300 - $244,835. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
