Strategic and Missile Defense Systems (SMD) is experiencing significant growth and we need your expertise to deliver amazing new technologies to our Army and Navy customers.
The Theater Strike Weapon Systems team is seeking a Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) Weapon Control and Mission Planning Element Lead. This leader reports to the CPS Platform Systems Sr Manager and works closely with other Element Leads to plan and execute all efforts associated with the development, test and integration of the CPS Weapon Control System and Mission Planning System onto multiple platforms. Customer interfaces include Navy CPS program office, Zumwalt and Virginia Program Offices, NAVSEA Technical Community, and Government National Team (GNT) members. .
As the Weapon Control System Sr Manager, you will:
• Lead a multi-disciplinary team delivering the Weapon Control and Mission Planning system elements, including responsibility for technical direction, planning, staffing, and scope execution.
• Work closely with the Subcontract Program Manager to provide oversight and direction for the major subcontractor, including the technical evaluation of supplier proposals.
• Provide guidance through a broad range of activities to ensure the technical integrity and successful delivery and fielding of the Weapon Control and Mission Planning elements, to include the full Systems Engineering lifecycle from architecture and requirements development through weapon system operations and integration.
• Establish and foster customer relationships to ensure the Weapon Control and Mission Planning team is addressing the needs of the customer on a blended LOE and completion CLIN contract structure with dynamic priorities and challenging funding profiles.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for Weapon Control and Mission Planning with the customer, program management, other program segments / IPTs, external partners, and subcontractors.
• Drive critical Engineering skill development, including software development, HW/SW integration, integration with major subcontractors and government entities, cybersecurity, and agile development.
• Grow leaders and mentor team members to cultivate the next generation of Engineering talent.
Basic Qualifications:
• Significant experience in an engineering or management role for spacecraft, missile, naval, or related systems
• Experience leading teams on large government development programs, or equivalent
• Experience managing large and complex prime- or sub- contractors
• US citizen with an Active or Current Secret Clearance required to start
• Eligibility to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Demonstrated business acumen, management influence and systems thinking
• Experience with missile system or weapon/fire control design, development, production, test, integration and operation on military host platforms
• Experience with Mission Planning systems
• Experience as an IPT Lead on a Weapon System Program
• Experience with Navy strategic programs and Navy submarine or surface platforms
• Experience interfacing, partnering, and building effective relationships with government customers
• Understanding of DoD contracts and funding types (RDT&E, OPN, etc.)
• Experience implementing Systems Engineering processes and executing milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR), particularly in an Agile/Spiral development environment
• Experience identifying, managing, and addressing program risks & opportunities
• Demonstrated ability to mentor other leaders and individual contributors
• Demonstrated consistency with high ethical standards and conduct
• Ability to maintain process discipline in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $151,200 - $266,570. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
