Training Software Specialist

Description:Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a skilled developer to create training simulations and scenarios for our partners throughout the business area. Leveraging current and emerging technologies, the selected candidate will be able to continually advance his/her capabilities while empowering others to do the same. The ideal candidate will have a solid computer science and media background. Expertise in media and web-based interactive/game development is key. Experience in mobile, virtual reality (VR), and/or augmented reality (AR) are strongly desired.

Activities include but are not limited to:

• Design and build simulations using the latest web/mobile/VR/AR technologies
• Combine interactivity with 2D/3D media to teach and reinforce skills in ways traditional training cannot
• Develop critical skills training solutions to sustain and advance talent pipeline within Space’s Engineering directorates
• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and fellow training professionals to advance and expand our capabilities
• Apply the most effective media types to train each identified skillset (i.e. micro-learning videos, interactive web-based emulators, 3d pull-apart models, etc.)
• Evaluate product effectiveness and identify opportunities for continual improvement
• Partner across Space and other Lockheed Martin business areas to share training products, knowledge, and other resources
• Develop in languages such as HTML, JS, CSS, and C#, creating organized, optimized, reusable code that can be applied to multiple projects
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, Multimedia Development, Instructional Systems Design, or a related field
• Demonstrated ability to produce optimized and aesthetic 2D and/or 3D graphics
• Ability to develop interactive web-based content using languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (i.e. Photoshop)or similar software for media production
• Strong professional communication skills
• High standards for work quality, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Ability and willingness to mentor fellow team members
Desired Skills:
Ideal candidates will also possess experience in some of the following areas:

• MS degree in Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Multimedia Development, Instructional Systems Design, or a related field
• 3D modeling tools (ex: Maya, 3D Max, or Blender)
• Creating 2D/3D games and/or simulations
• Creating iOS or desktop emulators
• Android or iOS development
• Audio/video production
• Developing for Augmented Reality and/or Virtual Reality technologies
• OOP and programming in C++/C#
• Unity3D, including writing C# and using 3rd Party SDKs
• Working with animated and rigged 3D models
• Agile project management processes
• Modern adult learning concepts, theories, tools, and processes
• Instructional Design or eLearning Development experience (e.g. ADDIE, SAM, AGILE)
