Lockheed Martin is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic system engineer to join the Space Protection Programs NEXT department help develop low-TRL R&D systems and push them to the next level. Our agile team, operating under rapid design paradigm, is composed of team members who can work across several engineering disciplines to generate proof-of concept demo programs, forming the next generation of space protection products. We conceptualize and develop custom hardware in-house. Work is varied, and products may span from innovative bus development to payload subsystems.

As a Systems Engineer Senior Staff, you will:

• Develop system CONOPS
• Coordinate with multi-disciplined teams
• Perform functional/timeline analysis
• Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
• Capitalize on your technical writing skills by writing proposals for new studies, systems, and demos
• Perform analysis at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal

Typically has 14 - 20 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree in electrical engineering or similar
• Experience with Requirements Analysis, Definition, and Verification
• Experience with Technical Documentation
• Experience with Systems Integration
• Experience with Test Planning
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
Desired Skills:
• Familiarity across several disciplines of engineering (digital and RF hardware, software, signal processing, mechanical, thermal)
• CONOPS Development
• DOORS experience
• Experience with spacecraft payloads
• Mission Planning and Analysis
• SRR/PDR/CDR process experience
• Experience with communications systems
• Experience with radar systems
• Experience with bus development
• Experience with payload development
• Command and Control
• Telemetry and Commanding
• Current TS/SCI Clearance with Poly
