Job Responsibilities
Description:The Global Positioning System (GPS) provides the Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) signals used by all major US military assets, global financial markets, transportation systems, utilities, agriculture and construction industries, and individuals worldwide. The GPS IIIF Space Vehicles (SVs) will provide improved accuracy and significantly enhanced anti-jam capabilities to prevent both US and allied forces from being denied GPS PNT access in hostile environments.
This position will be the System Integration Lead within the Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) IPT in support of the development, production, integration, test, and delivery of future GPS IIIF SVs. Systems Engineers in this role will leverage knowledge of PNT mission capabilities, Ground Systems, and a System of Systems (SoS) perspective to provide expertise on the plans and execution to validate GPS Segment functionality.
In this role you will:
• Act as our Technical Lead for all System Integration efforts
• Represent the Space Segment within Government Request-for-Change (RFC) processes that include Review and Configuration Boards and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs)
• Maintain ownership of both classified and unclassified External Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Specifications (I/S) within DOORS
• Support Impact Assessments and ROM requests on the GPS IIIF Program to update ICDs and I/S. Collaborate with Contracts on reviews of document updates to our technical baseline.
• Assist Space Segment development and execution of risk-reduction integration activities to evaluate the compatibility of the Control, Space, and User Segments within the GPS Enterprise.
• Participate as a Space Segment representative in Government Working Groups in many areas of System Integration including efforts on new capabilities, demos and tests, and technical conversations. Support the Government success in Operational Test Readiness Certification (OTRC) POAMs, Key Performance Parameters (KPPs) and System Performance Assessments (SPAs), etc.
• Engage in Software and Data Integration (SW&DI) efforts for Flight Software (FSW) products operating on a GPS IIIF HW/SW Simulators and Space Vehicles (SVs), along with the Command and Measurement List (CML) database releases used by the Control Segment for Command and Control (C2) activities.
• Understand SV FSW capabilities with specific interest in how and what payload capabilities we need to test within integration activities, to support overall mission success.
• Interface across GPS IIIF SV IPTs and Groups, including Assembly Test and Launch Operations (ATLO), Bus and Payload Subsystems, Mission Operations, SW&DI etc., to ensure SoS mission success.
• Act as a delegate for Payload or Network Communications Element FSW products built and owned by Subcontractors.
• Apply Systems Engineering principles to delegate role in oversight of Subcontractor work, with adherence to established processes on requirements, development, reviews, and test activities. Includes efforts with contractual deliverables.
• Routinely act as a representative of LM to an array of External Sources, including Government Civilians and Officers supporting the GPS Mission, Government Systems Engineering Technical Assistants (SETAs), Subcontractors, and Government Contractors leading other GPS Mission Segments.
• Develop into a technical lead that provides support to on-console activities in future GPS IIIF Launch & Early Orbit (L&EO) efforts.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline
• Experience with one or more of the following Systems Engineering processes and functions:
o Concept of Operations (CONOPS)
o Requirements and Interface Control Documents (ICD)
o System Integration and/or Test
o Test planning and execution with an understanding of all interdependencies
• Strong communication skills to disseminate information across a wide audience
• Self-driven – Ability to work independently and with a problem‑solving mindset to drive integration success
• Active or Current Secret Clearance, US citizenship required
Desired Skills:
• Experience with GPS (design, development, integration, test, and/or operations)
• Previous involvement with satellite and ground Command & Control (C2) operations and systems
• Demonstrated application/understanding of Systems Thinking behaviors and skills
• Knowledge of DOORS Requirements Management Tool
• Experience interacting across different internal functions and organizations
• Ability to act as an LM representative and build strong professional relationships with External Customers/Partners
• Fluency in standard Microsoft Office products
• Familiarity with the spacecraft operations throughout the full lifecycle of the program
• Experience with the development or execution of System Engineering technical documents and satellite test procedures
• Ability to assess and coordinate impacts to changes in external interfaces and requirements; Experience with initial reviews through contract modifications

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $89,300 - $157,550. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
