Job Responsibilities

Job ID: 735099BR Date posted: Jul. 16, 2026
Description:Protecting what matters most is the mission that matters most.

At Lockheed Martin, we are shaping the future of space exploration and defense. As a leader in the new space age, we are known for our pioneering spirit, collaborative partnerships, innovative thinking, and commitment to building remarkable products.
Our team is dedicated to making a positive impact on the world by leveraging our unique skills and experiences to tackle complex engineering challenges. We are passionate about delivering exceptional results and creating a better tomorrow.

The Senior Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in driving the future-state harmonization of enterprise 1LMX Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system functions, data models, and interfaces for LM Space and across multiple business areas. This role bridges the gap between complex engineering and production business processes and IT tool solutions, leading functional requirements development, strategy, and IT coordination.

The ideal candidate will ensure that cross-functional solutions are robust, secure, and scalable, ultimately managing the end-to-end lifecycle from initial solution design, data ontology definition, and data warehousing strategies down to strict data security governance, integration testing, user acceptance (buyoff), and deployment change management.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Requirements & Architecture Development: Translate complex, cross-functional engineering business processes into clear system requirements, functional specifications, and data architectures.
• Enterprise Harmonization: Partner with stakeholders across multiple business areas to drive consensus, harmonize disparate PLM data models, and align future-state system interfaces.
• Digital Thread Integration: Support the product lifecycle from design and manufacturing planning to demand management, build, and sustainment by managing critical enterprise interfaces spanning PLM, ERP, and MES.
• Data Strategy & Governance: Define and analyze data ontologies, data warehousing structures, and data security frameworks to ensure enterprise-grade digital continuity.
• Technical Integration & Testing: Lead IT coordination, solution design reviews, comprehensive integration testing, and final user buyoff/acceptance testing for PLM system enhancements.
• Advanced Capabilities Innovation: Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced analytics, to optimize PLM data utilization and system automation.
• Change Management & Enablement: Develop user experience training, support frameworks, and change management strategies to ensure seamless adoption of new PLM capabilities across the enterprise.
