A Level 5 Simulation Integration Engineer is a senior role responsible for architecting, validating, and deploying complex modeling and simulation frameworks that bridge physics based simulations with physical hardware. Candidates must typically possess a STEM Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 7+ years of experience.

We are seeking an innovative, highly technical Level 5 Simulation Integration Engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of an integrated system level simulation. Including hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) and software-in-the-loop (SWIL) test environments. In this role, you will join a fast paced system level simulation team, leading cross-functional integration activities, ensure simulation fidelity, and act as the principal bridge between software, hardware, and systems engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Simulation Architecture: Architect, build, and maintain scalable virtual environments, digital twins, and simulation frameworks.
• Integration & Verification: Lead subsystem’s (PSOC & Reentry), hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) and software-in-the-loop (SWIL) simulation integration into the system level simulation. Validate simulation models against real-world hardware behavior and testing data.
• Identify, pursue, and implement 1LMx solutions for simulation, analysis, and MBSE across the FBM program
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as a technical authority, guiding junior and mid-level engineers in the integration and testing processes.
• Tool Development: Develop and deploy custom scripts, APIs, and plugins to connect domain models, allowing for seamless data exchange between simulation and SCADA/control systems.
• Technical Documentation: Author master test plans, system requirements, and interface control documents ensuring alignment with industry and government guidelines.
• Root Cause Analysis: Identify and troubleshoot system anomalies. Trace discrepancies to either simulation artifacts or hardware integration flaws and implement corrective actions.
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience: Minimum of 8+ years of relevant industry experience (or 7+ years with a Master’s degree) in modeling, simulation, and integration.
• Technical Proficiency: Expert-level capability in languages like Python and C++. Experience with simulation or electrical design tools (e.g., ARISE, STK, PREPAR3DMATLAB/Simulink, SPICE, etc.).
• Physics Based (6DOF) simulation and analysis experience
• Systems Understanding: Strong working knowledge of embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and interface protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet).
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage projects, lead design reviews, engage with external partners and mentor team members.
• Clearance/Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) with active Final Secret and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Advanced Degree: Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in a core engineering or computer science discipline.
• Domain Experience: Prior work in defense, aerospace, autonomous vehicles, or heavily regulated industrial controls.
• Clearance: Active DoD Secret or Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,400 - $226,435. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
