Job Responsibilities
Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Senior Ship Integration and Shock Qualification Engineer to join the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) Platform Integration Integrated Product Team (IPT) focused on CPS installation on US Navy platforms.
In this role you will support the technical development of the CPS weapon system, particularly in areas involving compatibility and interface with US Navy surface and subsurface platforms. You will be the representative for the US Navy platforms’ requirements and existing interfaces during collaborative definition of solutions to emergent technical challenges. You will work with engineers and integrators from Systems Engineering & Integration Team (SEIT) and Test & Evaluation (T&E), as well as the Launcher and Weapon Control Systems.
In this role you will also be a key member of the cross-functional team tasked with certifying the weapon system for near-miss shock environments (ie. MIL-DTL-901E testing). This work will involve assessment of finite element analysis modeling on all components of the weapon system, test planning for complex shock tests, close work with US Navy technical warrant representatives, and communication to senior leadership about a critical aspect of the weapon system’s fielding plan.
As the Platform Integration Senior Integration and Shock Qualification Engineer, you will:
• Support the Platform Integration Lead on the CPS Platform Integration IPT. This is a critical integration position working across the Lockheed-led industry team and working with multiple US Navy stakeholders.
• Work closely with the program’s lead engineer for near-miss shock qualification to define the path to certification, including details on necessary analysis, assess risk of WS components, plan for light-, medium-, and heavy-weight tests of various sub-systems, and support cost and schedule decisions related to near-miss shock.
• Provide CPS program inputs to US Navy surface and subsurface platform alteration design and availability planning.
• Identify technical risks and roadblocks to integration, work across the organization to define potential solutions, and support the required teams in implementation of final solutions.
• This position reports to the Platform Integration IPT lead, works closely with the Launcher IPT, Weapon Control System IPT, and supports the overall Platform Systems Element effort.
• Works with the System Engineering & Integration Team (SEIT) to support requirements development/verification, interface definition, and model/architecture changes to support system design, testing, and platform integration.
• Works with the Test and Evaluation (T&E) Element to provide Platform Integration perspective in the development of test plans and procedures, leading up to an at-sea operational demonstration and flight test.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience with US Navy near-miss shock requirements, testing, or qualification (ie. MIL-DTL-901 or equivalent).
• Previous professional experience in an engineering or technology development environment.
• U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain DoD Secret level clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Experience presenting technical subjects with external stakeholders and program engineering or program management leadership.
• Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve sophisticated problems and implement constructive change.
• Demonstrated experience with a weapon systems or missile development program.
• Systems architecture or requirement development experience on US military programs.
• Experience with complex integration problem solving, involving multiple engineering disciplines and complying with rigorous system engineering processes.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
