Senior Manager - Contracts

Description:Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Management professional to support the Commercial Civil Space Line of Business. The selected candidate will lead a portfolio of Commercial and Civil Space Exploration Contracts teams and will be responsible for advising program management and finance teams, as well as personnel from other functional areas (i.e., legal, supply chain, pricing, etc.) on contractual requirements.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Plays a key role in shaping the future of Lockheed Martin through capturing follow-on and new business as well as developing leaders within the organization.
• All aspects of contract administration including proposal support and negotiation, post- award contract administration, scope management, and contract closeout
• Serve as a valued business leader and partner with business development, programs, functional counterparts and Program Management leadership to drive creative and competitive contracting approaches.
• Providing guidance, advice and counsel to programmatic and technical staff regarding contract interpretation issues, contract scope issues, and other contract related matters
• Responsible for coordinating employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
• Significant interface and collaboration required with internal (including Line of Business leadership) and external customers.
• Review and evaluate customer requests for proposal and provides risk assessments and coordinates proposals
• Developing and executing negotiation strategies
• Develops and applies solutions to complex problems which require the regular use a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation
• Building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external customers
• Managing, mentoring, training and providing contractual guidance to junior employees
Basic Qualifications:
Must be an experienced leader. Selected candidate is expected to exercise initiative and independent action in support of LOB and functional goals

Experience providing strategic and sound business advice to senior leadership.

Must have experience with multiple type contracts - for example: CPFF, CPIF, CPAF, T&M or FFP

Expertise in U.S. Government (FAR) and commercial (non FAR-based) Contracting experience

Effectively organizes, prioritizes and manages multiple assignments and priorities

Able to work effectively and independently in a dynamic environment

Ability to identify risk and understand financial implications

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and strategically with functional and program counterparts to drive business results
Desired Skills:
3-5 years of supervisory experience including Manager of Managers roles
Direct commercial sale and international contracts experience
Experience with NASA and NFS
NCMA and/or IACCM certification highly desired
Must have the ability to exercise initiative, participate in strategy development, and work in an independent manner.
Excellent communication skills
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
