Description:The Advanced Programs - Program Manager manages the portfolio of Advanced Payload products for the Special Programs Line of Business. Overall responsibility includes working with the RF & Radar COE to develop and refine the strategy to support existing and emerging Special Programs customer mission needs while also managing the IRAD and CRADs in the Special Programs Line of Business in coordination with the RF & Radar COE.

Scope of the Advanced Payloads Program Manager includes:
- Product Management of the IRAD and CRADs which encompass conceptual design, engineering development and eventually to flight hardware.
- Program Management responsibilities include oversight of the program including financials, CAM, technical feasibility, ensuring achievable schedules are baselined and managed, evaluating program risks and managing those within the available resources.
- Leadership of a technical team and coordination across the functional organizations to execute CRADs, respond to RFPs and support other LOB needs.
- Drive tool and process refinement, achieve product affordability by reducing costs & cycle time across all functions, continually evaluate technological innovations for applicability within the program portfolio.
- Work with the RF & Radar COE and receiving programs to successfully transition payload designs from concept definition, requirements identification and design development to production.
- Develop and clearly articulate the strategy and translate that strategy into tactical execution by coordinating across the enterprise.

This position requires significant coordination across the customer base and the LM Space enterprise. Regular briefings to executives within Special Programs, Engineering and Technology as well as external customers is required.
Basic Qualifications:
- The candidate must possess a degree in engineering, science or other technical field with greater than 10 years experience in the design and development of space-based systems and 5 or more years of leadership experience in the aerospace field.

- Detailed knowledge of engineering and program planning throughout the life-cycle phases,
- Relevant experience leading a team through conceptual design, program level requirement reviews and design reviews,
- Successful experience developing brass boards and engineering development units for design verification,
- Excellent presentation, oral and written skills to facilitate effective and efficient interchanges with senior customer and management and customers,
- Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams, motivate individuals and cultivate talent,
- Demonstrated program management experience leading teams through multiple development timelines while working with the customer to develop and manage the efforts.
- Excellent communication skills to understand customer mission needs, work to understand available resources and manage expectations,
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
Desired Skills:
Experience with the broad set of Customers within the Special Programs Line of Business. Broad RF Engineering skills with a good understanding of ESAs. Experience leading development teams through major milestones including Systems Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR). Demonstrated ability to cultivate talent within RF Engineering, System Engineering and Program Management.
