Description:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Program Manager (PM) to join the Accelerated Mission Demonstrations (AMD) team within IGNITE. This role will initially be responsible for the Radar Pathfinder (RPF) program within AMD’s on-orbit demo mission portfolio.

Radar Pathfinder is an LM400-class remote sensing demonstration mission, funded primarily with Independent Research and Development (IRAD) to advance LM Space’s strategic offering in key mission areas by demonstrating salient bus and payload capabilities. RPF is currently in the Space Vehicle Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T) phase, with launch and operations to come. This position is responsible for all aspects of the program throughout the entire program life cycle.

Accelerated Mission Demonstrations is a directorate within LM Space’s IGNITE organization that includes a portfolio of on-orbit demonstration missions. AMD partners with the lines of business (LOBs) and strategy and business development (S&BD) organizations to advance the company’s strategic business objectives.

In this role you will:
• Operate as program manager for Radar Pathfinder, an LM400 demonstration mission within the AMD demo portfolio
• Lead the program core team, consisting of PM, chief engineer, and systems engineering personnel to deliver RPF on time and on budget
• Partner with the Engineering and Technology (E&T) talent center organizations to staff the program core team and supporting disciplines
• Work with Strategy and Business Development (S&BD) to ensure program monuments and execution align with business needs
• Engage with the Lockheed Martin enterprise (supply chain, production centers, ATLO, E&T, government relations, etc.) in support of program execution
• Apply and improve AMD best practices around demo program execution
• Represent the program to stakeholders, executives, and customers
Basic Qualifications:
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, drive program execution, and build consensus among peers and stakeholders
• Experience driving execution and managing cost and schedule as Control Account Manager (CAM) or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience making risk-based decisions that balance programmatic and technical considerations
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to brief senior leadership, customers (government/industry), and external stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
Desired Skills:
• Experience executing spacecraft-level integration and test campaigns
• Demonstrated program management experience building space flight systems in a fast-paced agile development environment
• Experience in Class C/D, IRAD, or “go-fast” development environment
• Experience with matrixed organizations and applying influence without direct authority
• Experience managing a space flight project throughout entire program lifecycle
• Experience managing IRAD programs as principal investigator, program manager, or control account manager
• Working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles
• Experience establishing and shaping program structure and rhythm (org structure, business rhythm, tasking, etc.)
• Experience interfacing with engineering talent center leadership
• Demonstrated experience presenting to senior executive leadership
• Previous experience as a certified principal engineer or equivalent with responsibility for flight product delivery
• Experience in flight hardware development, including design, first article build and test, and verification
• Experience working with subcontractors, including source selection, contract negotiation, and managing execution
• Experience with internal LM Space design and production
• Experience with software and circuitware development efforts
• Experience with spacecraft launch and operations, including spacecraft licensing
• Previous L-coded leadership experience
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to mentor junior team members, cultivating a high-performance team culture

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $134,000 - $236,325. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
