Description:The Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Naval branch is experiencing significant growth and we need your expertise to deliver the world’s most advanced warfighting capabilities to our customers.
The Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Mission Assurance Manager is a high-profile, fast-paced role supporting all FBM programs including Production and Sustainment of the proven Trident D5 missile and development of the Trident Life Extension 2 (LE2) program – expected to deliver a significantly evolved strategic capability in the next few years. Between the two, FBM is over $1B / year in sales. This is a rare opportunity to work closely alongside our Navy partners to field multiple future systems that the nation urgently needs.
As the successful FBM Mission Assurance Sr. Manager, you will develop and grow the Quality team to plan and successfully execute the FBM program portfolio. In addition, you will be responsible for leading the coordination between the Quality and Mission Success Teams. You will report to the Strategic and Missile Defense (SMD) Mission Assurance Director, and matrixed to the VP, FBM Programs as a member of the Program Management Team (PMT). It is your ultimate responsibility that we deliver the capabilities that Lockheed Martin Space has committed to the Navy customer with exceptional product quality and using compliant processes.
You will have ownership for the entire Quality Management System on these critical programs. This position requires a strong understanding of all aspects of Quality, and the ability to adapt these to development and sustainment programs needs in providing the right level of oversight optimal to the phase of execution. We need you to be a driving force to guide technical decisions including Systems Architecture, Integrated Master Plan, Requirements and Verification Baseline, development and flight test hardware baseline, ground and flight test planning, and design maturity milestone reviews.
As a Full Spectrum Leader, you will also drive design evolution in a systematic and thoughtful way with the Quality mindset as an independent and objective judge of product performance, and you will have the ultimate authority to ensure requirements are met. This senior leadership position works closely with their Navy counterpart to develop, test, and field a strategic system and as the primary DCMA contact.
This role has functional responsibility for your team, including staffing, performance reviews, and talent development. You will own the Corrective Action Board (CAB) to drive quality issues to closure and lead cross-functional improvement projects to improve affordability and value. As needed, you will be expected to fulfill delegation responsibilities for the SMD Mission Assurance Director.

This position is based in either Titusville, Florida or Littleton, Colorado.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science or Engineering preferred, or any other related field
• Experience with re-entry body, missile, space, or related hardware development, integration, production, or quality engineering.
• Experience across all aspects of the program lifecycle, such as requirements definition, design, development, production, system test, deployment, and/ or sustainment
• Experience in Program and/ or Project Management (Staffing, Schedule, Financial, and Technical) or Proposal effort (Basis of Estimate, proposal, fact finding, and negotiations)
• Ability to drive closure and resolve technical issues/challenges
• Experience in Program Quality Management System including AS9100 certification, Quality Requirements Flow down, and/ or Corrective Action Board
• Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science or Engineering preferred with 12+ years of related experience
• Experience in strategic missile systems
• Fleet Ballistic Missile experience highly preferred
• Experience across all aspects of the program lifecycle, such as requirements definition, design, development, production, system test, deployment, and sustainment
• Experience working with the Navy Strategic Systems Program Office
• Demonstrated understanding of risk identification or mitigation
• Demonstrated Speak Up attitude and ability to influence technical leaders and program executives

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $151,200 - $266,570. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
