You will be providing supervision, oversight, and support for mechanical fabrication and post processing tasks that support several programs within our Space sector. You will be responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. You will exhibit strengths in leadership, communication (both oral and written), and presentation/organizational skills by communicating with employees, managers, and customers while maintaining sustainable working relationships.
Summary of Key Duties for this position:
•You will be engaged in the role of a First Line Leader supporting the 2nd shift manufacturing team demonstrating Full Spectrum Leadership imperatives to include delivering results, shaping the future, building relationships, energizing teams, and modeling personal excellence.
•You maintain effective oversight and management of the team, team building, and individual team member development; establishing a baseline of technician skills and establishing cross-training plans to maximize workforce capacity.
•You manage shop schedules supporting deliverable and development hardware by prioritizing production orders and assignment of daily tasks.
•You drive, track and manage all WIP in the work-cell and help eliminate obstacles that prevent the steady flow of hardware on the floor.
•You drive continuous improvement and development of technical competencies, talent and performance, and operational efficiencies.
•You provide input to capital planning acquisition, facilities management and long-range planning for the center.
•You enforce a robust safety program, rapid improvement processing, cost reduction initiatives, and long-range strategic initiatives planning.
•You ensure proper understanding of environmental standards and their application to manufacturing activities.
•You assess manufacturing/test performance, identify efficiencies and best-practices, and
have direct accountability for cost, schedule, and quality performance.
•You communicate regularly with Manufacturing leadership, Program leadership, functional leadership, and support personnel
•As need, you will also serve as the Second shift lead for other factory operations with the manufacturing center to support production requirements.
Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.
