As a Machine Learning Operations Engineer on the T-TAURI Team at Lockheed Martin Space, you will help transform our artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) research and develop algorithms into scalable, operationalized tools that will streamline our program clients’ cost and schedule baselines, creating tangible business value by analyzing information, communicating outcomes, and collaborating on product development.
We are looking for a talented and passionate ML / MLOps Engineer to join our AI team. Our mission is to build predictive solutions that focus on the assembly and test operational data reviews for cutting edge spacecrafts and satellite programs. We need engineers that can bring together the disciplines of DevOps, Data Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, and Data Science Research into a more efficient and automated process. You will be working closely with each team member to understand the team’s overall strategy and direction and provide your ML/MLOps Engineering expertise in collaborating to design, build, deploy, and operate production pipelines and systems. You will be essential for enabling the team to produce solutions more efficiently, with high scalability, and reliability of operation using MLOps best practices.
Basic Qualifications:
• Demonstrated self-motivation with a compelling desire to make a positive impact and the organizational skills and sense of urgency to make it happen.
• Broad understanding of data science and machine learning
• MLOps lifecycle management (build, deploy, and production support) and strong Python programming skills and experience with one or more deep learning frameworks such as Tensorflow, PyTorch or Keras.
• Containerization (e.g., Docker), CI/CD pipeline patterns and best practices, and experience collaborating with a team of data scientists, DevOps, Data engineers, and ML engineers
Desired Skills:
• An ideal candidate is comfortable in cluster environments and understands the related computer systems concepts (e.g., CPU/GPU interactions/transfers, latency/throughput bottlenecks during training of neural networks, CUDA, pipelining/multiprocessing).
• Work closely with Engagements and Capability Implementation (ECI) team, research scientist teams, and product engineering teams to drive model implementations and new algorithms
• Collaborate with our research scientists to create scalable ML solutions for business problems
• Deliver ML models and software components that solve challenging business problems in the Space industry, working in collaboration with the Product, Architecture, Engineering, and Data Science teams.
• Experience with any of the following will be a plus:
o Developing data pipelines and orchestrating the deployment of ML models for production ready systems
o MLOps tools such as KubeFlow, MLFlow, Metaflow, or Sagemaker
o Stream processing technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Samza, Flink, etc.
o PyTorch, TensorFlow, MXNet
o Cloud-based solutions with Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure
o Building and delivering large-scale machine-learning infrastructure
o Containerization technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, ECS, Docker)

Pay Rate:
In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $76,100 - $126,900 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
