Be a part of state-of-the-art analysis for space & missile systems at Lockheed Martin Space. Work on meaningful analyses involving structures, materials and strategic missile defense and space flight systems.

Are you interested in joining us as a Harness & Cabling Design Engineer? If so, then you will be part of an engineering team that will be performing electrical/mechanical engineering design tasks relating to wire harness/cable design and interconnecting of electronic equipment. You should have knowledge of M-CAD and E-CAD tools, excellent written and verbal communications skills, and ability to work in a flexible and dynamic team environment. Your areas of responsibilities include: detailed component performance spec (PS) and Interface Control Drawing (ICD) interpretation, responsible for the harness cabling electrical/mechanical design, test and installation support of wiring harness, parts lists generation and engineering change support. Support program planning from a cost, technical and schedule perspective, conceptual design, trade studies, drawing generation and documentation release, and testing requirements. Selected candidate will collaborate with other disciplines, such as Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Quality to ensure program requirements are being met. Candidate will perform various duties including developing cabling and harness designs; investigating design factors such as equipment or part availability, manufacturability, ease of assembly, weight and cost; evaluating vendor designs; developing and maintaining all assembly and test documentation; trouble shooting and correcting anomalies and discrepant hardware. Successful candidate will also participate in failure investigation teams. Candidate must provide support to both in-house and outside cable manufacture and fabrication. Available to work off shifts, weekends, and/or holidays, if required to maintain schedules.
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years experience required with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.

Basic Qualifications:
-A strong understanding of the design and analysis of electrical and mechanical systems.
-Use of CAD schematic capture tools, and/or familiarity with Zuken E3 cable tools, use of CAD\\CAM programs and\\or Pro-E\\Creo (or equivalents).
-A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
-Candidate must be experienced in wire harness design of electrical\\mechanical interconnects for satellite spacecraft equipment or missile systems.
Desired Skills:
Demonstrated experience in high reliability electrical/mechanical design engineering, including wire harness/cable design and electronic equipment interfacing. Candidate should have demonstrated working knowledge and utilization of mechanical and electrical CAD/CAM drawing tools for modeling and schematic capture of wiring diagrams and familiarity with Zuken E3 cable tools or equivalent. They should have strong interpersonal, communications and organizational skills. Experience working with equipment performance specs, wire drawing ng understanding of the design and analysis of electrical and mechanical systems.

-A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
-Candidate must be experienced in wire harness design of electrical\\mechanical interconnects for satellite spacecraft equipment or missile systemlists (WCL's), schematics, and related cabling and harnessing documentation. Ability to coordinate with multiple organizations to oversee a harness design project of high complexity.
