Description:This position is for a Software Configuration Management and Development Operations (DevOps) professional. The selected candidate must possess the ability to design, implement, and manage a DevOps and software control environment to enable highly efficient and productive software development processes and workflows through automation and complex problem solving. This position will achieve multiple project objectives utilizing proven technical skills, implementing industry best practices and collaborating with colleagues, contractors, and customers. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to efficiently manage builds, deployments, and configuration resolutions for multiple integrated applications during software release cycles for development, test, and production environments.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 6 years Software Configuration Management (SCM) experience in a complex development environment
• Excellent knowledge in the 4 tenets of SCM (identification, control, status accounting, and auditing)
• Ability to design, implement, and manage a software development control environment utilizing SCM best practices
• In-depth understanding of software development processes and workflows
• Experience in both UNIX and Windows environments including interoperability
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with Linux operating system
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with Windows operating system• Minimum 3 Years’ experience with Git
• Support management of branching strategies.
• Excellent knowledge of build systems to include Make, Ant, and Maven used in a parallel and distributed build environment
• Prepare, package, and stage applications for test and production environments
• Provide technical support, training, and guidance to program personnel on software development lifecycle and SCM tools
• Ability to work independently and prioritize workload based on team objectives
• Must have the ability to work in a team environment and have strong coordination, organization, and communication skills
• Knowledge in controlling third party software (COTS, GOTS, and FOSS) to ensure efficient storage and reusability across the program
• Ensure customer requirements are implemented and review change accounting activity to ensure compliance with configuration management policies
• Experience preparing for and supporting CM boards (CCB, DRRB, etc.)
• At least 5 years of experience generating and updating CM Plans
• At least 5 years contributing to CM documentation such as CM plans and SVDDs
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 6 years of professional experience; or 4 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
• Must be able to obtain Interim Secret clearance to start with the ability to acquire Top Secret clearance
Desired Skills:
• Experience with DoD, CMMI, IEEE and ISO efforts
• Experience working on programs with more than 100 people
• Ability to support multiple release project schedules simultaneously
• Strong Scripting Skills (Perl, Python, Shell)
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Sonatype Nexus and Jenkins CI
• Familiarity with Git hooks
• Understanding of Git history rewrite
• Familiarity with Git-Lab
• Understanding of Git bundles
• Experience in performing product upgrades of IBM Rational ClearCase
• administration of IBM Rational ClearCase (Base and UCM)
• Create and manage UCM environments including PVOB hierarchy implementations with single and multi-component VOBs
