In this role your leadership responsibilities will include:
* Be responsible for leading a team of 3-5 compensation professionals supporting the Lockheed Martin (LM) Space business.
* Motivate and engage your team to perform productively in a team environment, set an example of ethical behavior, have excellent problem-solving skills and thrive in an environment of continual change.
* Connect compensation team with business needs – work to get consultant structure in place
* Watch work balance across your team to ensure equity in projects
* Guide compensation team on projects and daily approvals. Escalates approvals as necessary after reviews
* Act on behalf of the Compensation Director when necessary

In this role other responsibilities will also include:
* Create compensation data analyses and interpret data to develop strategic solutions to compensation challenges
* Work with corporate level teams to implement compensation items while balancing the needs of LM Space
* Recommend compensation strategy and projects related to attracting, retaining, and motivating talent, aligned with LM Space talent strategy
* Create overall project schedules and track and maintain compensation budgets
* Work through strategic communications plans and create training for leaders and HR Business Partners (HRBPs) on relevant compensation topics
* Act on behalf of the compensation team in communications with leaders and HRBPs. Represents the compensation team on BA initiatives
* Partner with the Benefits & Employee Services leader to focus the organization on Total Value for employees
* Lead compensation projects for the BA and corporate level teams (when applicable)
* Perform compensation related analysis for salary setting and compensation planning
* The ability and willingness to relocate now and for next assignments is desirable. There will also be 10-20% US travel.
* Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support the organization.

Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree and 6 years of exempt experience working in a compensation or total rewards role or equivalent experience/combined education
* Proven ability to lead teams and influence strategy
* Excellent analytical skills
* Strong business acumen
* Demonstrated successful project management skills
* Ability to utilize personnel systems to obtain data for analysis and reports, as appropriate
* Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (utilizing advance features such as vLookups and Pivot Tables) with ability to produce graphic representations of analytical data for presentations
* Experience or course work in modeling compensation and/or benefit programs
* Solid understanding of compensation and rewards models
Desired Skills:
* CCP/PHR
* Strong interpersonal, communications skills (written and verbal), and presentation skills
* Strong persuasion, negotiations and consulting skills
* Problem resolution and decision-making skills
* Ability to work under stress to meet deadlines in a timely manner
* Excellent organization skills and solid attention to detail
* Familiarity with HRIS systems for reporting and queries
* Current knowledge of applicable federal and state labor laws (Fair Labor Standards Act, Service Contract Act, etc.).
