Cloud Computing and Engagement Senior Manager

Description:This position is for the Senior Manager of Cloud Technologies, working for Lockheed Martin Enterprise Information Technology (EIT). Position is chartered to for setting and executing the Enterprise IT cloud vision and ensuring adoption of modern IT capabilities through managing engineering engagements across the corporation. The position will work with LM Business Area leaders and technology stakeholders to ensure delivery of a cohesive, effective set of solutions through a clear strategy and architectural plans. The position will lead a small, motivated team of engineers and architects who are focused on the design, development, and deployment of specific cloud related technologies into the Enterprise IT ecosystem to meet BA and Enterprise needs and requirements.

Individual will be part of the EIT Tech Office technical leadership team and will be responsible for participating in staff administration, monthly operating reviews, and other activities to ensure horizontal integration across the entire EIT organization. You will interact with subject matter experts across EIT, CTO, and the wider corporation who will be providing inputs on best practices, technology direction, user needs, standards, and operational risk items around their specific area of expertise (AWS Well Architected Framework, infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, loosely coupled architecture, microservices, Internet of Things, containerization, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), Software Defined Infrastructure, Blue/Green deployments, autoscaling, Messaging Protocols, Chaos Engineering, Automation, etc.) as well as the product teams who are looking to modernize their portfolios. Additionally, the qualified candidate would be expected to consume new concepts and technologies quickly, as well as be able to educate technologists and product owners on their applicability and usage by having previous experience leading development efforts. Must be willing to work flexible hours and be able to travel as required.

Responsibilities:
• Provide consulting, evangelism, knowledge transfer, training, and staff augmentation for BA teams across corporation on emerging technologies.
• Primary focus is on Modern optimized architectural guidance and adoption.
• Foster tight partnerships between LM and providers as mission partners.
• Drive further adoption and impact of Cloud First approach through community involvement.
• Provide engagement on software development capabilities leveraging infrastructure as code, Platform as a Service, DevOps methodologies and tools, Design Thinking, and Lean Product Management to augment and accelerate the rollout of the LM Software Factory.
• Provide a cloud architectural roadmap based on best of breed services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) from multiple vendors.
• Recommends deployment practices including auto-scaling, elasticity, and disaster recovery making best use of cloud services.
• Lead a working group made up of Enterprise and Business Area stakeholders to jointly develop and execute the Lockheed Martin cloud strategy.
• Establish effective communications and working relationships with the other components of EIT, Business Area organizational leadership, Enterprise and BA Applications teams, and customers.
• Stay abreast of emerging industry technology trends and forecasts to help proactively improve the technical and security position of Lockheed Martin and increase the efficiency of IT operations.

This position can be worked from any US Lockheed Martin work facility.
Basic Qualifications:
• IT leadership experience running operations in a large, complex organization
• Experience with and understanding of AWS based technologies and associated security.
• Experience in leadership roles (team lead, manager, technical manager, product/program manager). Experience leading geographically distributed and culturally diverse work-groups.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of Engagement Management and technical leadership experience.
• Strong breadth and depth of knowledge and experience across all technology domains of Enterprise IT
• Experience building and leading a product focused, cross-functional, agile team
• A penchant for technology exploration; continuous evaluation of technical solutions to improve the capability of a delivered products or services
• Predisposition for learning, desire to share and ability to teach learned knowledge with others to ensure progress towards mission goals and objectives
• Deep understanding of system security architectures
• Familiar with industry best practices, and leading-edge hosting landscape
• Understanding of general IT infrastructure and system interactions (servers, LAN/WAN, SAN, virtualization, etc.)
• Experience establishing and maintaining a roadmap, including improvements to existing capabilities and new opportunities
• Knowledge of enterprise scale multi-tier hosting and agile enterprise technology adoption
• Demonstrated experience with Modern Design Patterns
• Demonstrated experience with DevOps and Scrum development concepts.
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related area
- Master’s degree in computer science or related area
- Minimum 6 years IT leadership in a large complex organization
- AWS, Azure, GCP, Lean/Agile, or related Certifications
- Business Process Management (BPM) tool experience.
- Understanding of Agile and Scrum development concepts.
- Previous experience working in service orientated technology organization
- Comfortable with the concepts of DevOps and working in that capacity
- Individual should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup-like environment
- Strong quality assurance and process improvement experience - past operations policy and process development.
- Experience with methodologies such as Agile, DevOps, Lean, Design Thinking, TDD, TQM, or BPR.
- Data Quality and Analysis Skills. Ability to review data from multiple sources, understand it’s meaning, determine trends and areas of concern.
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance
