Come join Lockheed Martin's Global Situational Awareness (GSA) & Global Command, Control & Comms (GC3) team. This group of diverse Engineers design, develop, and field the systems architecture and supporting hardware and software components and systems in support of the next generation of GC3 systems.

As part of the GC3 portfolio in the Strategic Missiles and Defense (SMD) Line of Business, Lockheed Martin is looking for a dynamic, dedicated Chief Engineer to support our Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Engineering team.

The selected candidate will join a high performing team as the NC3 Chief Engineer, which is the Technical Authority providing engineering direction and oversight to the design and development of key NC3 systems and components. The Chief Engineer will cultivate strong relationships with internal and external customer technical staff as well as leading trade studies in support of emerging technical Requests for Information and pursuits. This position requires extensive experience in development of hardware and hardware/software integration of systems for Dept of War and/or commercial customers from inception to qualification and delivery/fielding.

In addition to a high level of technical acumen, the candidate will also possess proven communication skills, extensive collaborative capabilities regarding planning and execution of the work, rapid resolution of issues, and focus on building confidence/cohesion in the supporting team.

The individual will be the Chief Engineer who will lead the LM technical team and work with a diverse internal and external customer base to develop, plan, and execute technical work in the following areas:
• Developing customer and potential customer challenges into solutions with derived technical requirements and system architectures
• Defining and managing the technical baseline (CE is chair or co-chair for review boards and a signatory for design artifacts/products with the ability to delegate)
• Hardware development including Hardware/Software integration and test, RF testing, system calibration, System on a Chip (SoC) technologies
• Troubleshooting and failure analysis (ex. Lead Failure Review Boards)
• Evolution and maturation of analytical simulation capabilities
• Specialty engineering concerns, including EMI, parts and materials selections, etc.
• Coordination with other LM Lines of Business and programs to include lessons learned, best practices, and sharing of engineering personnel

The position is located in Waterton, CO plant. Occasional travel (up to 25%) will be required.

The individual will attend and participate in TIMs, test reviews, and other meetings with customer stakeholders and support personnel to provide their expertise in support of customer goals.

The individual will direct the technical activities of the NC3 team, to include development of specific tasking in the aforementioned areas, leading execution of the efforts, and reviewing final work products prior to delivery. The individual will also be responsible for mentoring and developing technical talent in key technical and engineering leadership capacities.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science or higher in Engineering from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combine education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment
• Significant technical experience with demonstrated expertise in hardware development, hardware/software integration, systems integration, engineering, and/or test of complex systems
• 12 Years of related experience with a minimum of 5 years of proven team leadership experience in systems design and development, including responsibility for missile(s), space, command and control, and/or other similar applications.
• Experience leading a team, coordinating across programs, and interfacing with government Defense customers
• Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and decision-making skills
• Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI. U.S. Citizenship required.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with Electronically Steerable Arrays (ESA) technology, design, analysis, and test
• Experience with multi-network architecture
• Experience with System level Cyber security compliance
• Ability to evaluate and incorporate novel solutions and/or digital engineering approaches that align with the goals and objectives of a program or project

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $164,300 - $289,800. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
