THE WORK
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineering Manager to lead our team in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure, including Aircrew Training Devices and Learning Management Systems (LMS). The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in network administration, server administration, and experience with LMS administration, as well as proven leadership skills to manage and direct a team of network engineers.
Leading Teams
As a Network Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of 5-10 employees, with a budget of $1,000,000. You will be expected to:
• Develop and enforce policies and processes to manage and maintain network and server systems
• Direct the development of solutions for training delivery networks, development networks, and aircrew training devices
• Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot issues and develop solutions for user-reported issues, learning content issues, and overall system functionality
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively
• Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the team
• Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including team members, vendors, and customers, to ensure that their needs are met, and expectations are exceeded
Key Responsibilities
1. Network and Server Systems Administration: Develop and enforce policies and processes to manage and maintain network and server systems, including VMWare vSphere, vCenter, and Horizon administration.
2. Solution Development: Direct the development of solutions for training delivery networks, development networks, and aircrew training devices. Ensure proper compliance auditing and reporting.
3. Troubleshooting and Support: Collaborate with vendors as needed to troubleshoot issues and develop solutions for user-reported issues, learning content issues, and overall system functionality.
4. Reporting and Analytics: Design custom reports and maintain dashboards, deploy processes, and report on the data/outcome of those processes when needed.
5. Vendor Management: Manage vendor licenses (renewals, seats, support agreements, etc.)
6. Research and Evaluation: Research and evaluate relevant software and hardware technologies that have potential value for customers and stakeholders
7. Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance checks of routine processes and specialized tasks

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or Associates Degree with 5+ years experience in Network Engineering/Admin
• 3+ years managing small-to-medium, geographically separated teams and projects (5-10 employees, $1,000,000 budget)
• 8+ years experience with LMS administration
• 8+ years network administration experience
• 8+ years experience with Aircrew Training Devices (flight simulators)
• Experience with VMWare vCenter/vSphere
• Experience with Horizon VDI
• Experience with Cisco networking devices (Routing, Switching, Security, Wireless, etc.)
• Experience with Palo Alto firewalls
• Ability to obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III certification (i.e. Security+, CASP, CISSP) within 90-days of start date
Desired Skills:
• Industry certifications (Microsoft/VMWare/Cisco) desired
• General understanding of Aircrew Training System business processes
• Knowledge of Instructional Design and generally accepted learning principles
• Aptitude and interest in learning new technology
• Display professional integrity and confidentiality
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Experience with budgets and building Bill of Material requests

• Design and plans network communications systems
• Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture
• Provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
