What does this role look like?
The candidate will serve as a working level engineering associate manager supporting processing of the D5 weapon system at the Strategic Weapons Facility Atlantic (SWFLANT) in Kings Bay, Georgia.

The candidate will include managing up to eight engineers in multiple disciplines serving as the support equipment engineering team at the facility. The position requires alignment with all tenets of Full Spectrum Leadership.
Job functions include ensuring and managing the group’s creation and coordination of effective technical evaluations and dispositions of support equipment anomalies. The candidate will ensure the engineering team is working to the appropriate requirements and coordinating dispositions and corrective actions with the customer.
In this role will offer you the following daily key responsibilities:
• Responsibilities of the candidate will include safety, technical, and schedule objectives necessary to accomplish mission success.
• The candidate will be required to interface with our customer at all levels, as well as both internal and external Lockheed Martin hourly and salary employees.
• The position will also require the candidate to provide engineering support to mechanical support equipment (SE).
• This support will include engineering support and technical guidance associated with the design, modification, maintenance, fabrication, installation, testing, and review of equipment and installations such as: Conduct engineering investigations to enhance SE reliability, operating effectiveness, and product quality.
• Monitor service logs on a periodic basis and evaluate repetitive discrepancies for corrective action.
• Prepare weight test instructions and determine frequency requirements for SE.
• Review, investigate, and provide comments on suggested improvements related to processing and support operations.
• Provide safety engineering guidance related to SE hardware, procedures, processing, and personnel safety.
Provide assistance on SE alteration accomplishment and subsequent proofing, if required.
• Review proposed changes and prepare recommended changes to processing documentation.
• Prepare and recommend equipment alteration requests for Contractor and Government-owned equipment.
• Provide engineering review for configuration modification/change to SE.
• Prepare and recommend disposition for deviation and waiver requests.
• Provide engineering review and disposition recommendations for discrepant SE hardware.
• Provide failure diagnosis and recommend corrective action on SE malfunctions.
• Develop, prepare, and maintain concepts, criteria, designs, specifications, documentation, and acceptance procedures for acquisition of new or modified SE.
• Support the closed loop corrective action system for deficiency resolutions of SE problems.
Please note that this position does NOT support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Kings Bay, GA, and will be expected to work in the office.
Basic Qualifications:
To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in applicable Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, etc.) from an accredited College or University
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule that may include overtime and weekends
• You will need to be a US Citizen (no dual citizens), and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD TOP SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

No clearance is required to apply but an Interim clearance is needed prior to start.Desired Skills:
To be effective, ideally, you should also have:
• Active US Security clearance
• Experience at a Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) field site
• Demonstrated leadership ability
• Experience with customer interface
• Familiarity with the tenets of Full Spectrum Leadership and the ability to utilize those tenets while managing workforce teams
• Experience with equipment failure analysis and disposition
• Familiarity with test and data collection instruments
• Familiarity with heavy industrial equipment
• Demonstrated competency in troubleshooting electromechanical systems
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing requirements and priorities
• Demonstrated excellence in both written and verbal skills
• Demonstrated effective problem and conflict resolution skills

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
