Lockheed Martin Space has an immediate opening in King of Prussia, PA for an Associate System Safety Engineering Manager to develop and execute the system safety strategy for the development and sustainment of Reentry System/Reentry Vehicle (RSRV) programs. This position will report directly to the System Safety Manager of LM Space with oversight for the RSRV programs and will be responsible for the System Safety management strategy for personnel supporting the RSRV programs. You will also be responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
Your responsibilities will include the following tasks:
· Develop the System Safety Program Plan(s), defining the system safety role across the program life cycle.
· Act as the lead for Lockheed Martin System Safety in preparing presentations and participation in Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, and various working groups and safety review meetings
· Coordinate with test range safety teams and writing range safety reports to support testing
· Collaborate with Army and Navy safety counterparts and support weapon systems working groups
Basic Qualifications:
* A minimum of a BS in Engineering, Science, Safety or equivalent experience.
* Must have excellent interpersonal and
communication skills (written and oral).
* Familiarity with MIL-STD-882, Range Safety requirements/processes (EWR 127-1 and/or AFSPCMAN 91-710), and/or Domestic/International safety regulations.
* Understanding of System Safety contractual requirements and their execution throughout the product lifecycle.
* Ability to lead diverse engineering teams to identify hazards, assess and mitigate associated risks encountered in the design, development, test, production, use and disposal.
* Ability to obtain Top Secret Security Clearance
Desired Skills:
Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams of System Safety engineers.
Subject matter expert in the System Safety discipline.
Experience with development of MIL-STD-882 and 91-710 documentation.
Current Secret Security Clearance.
Experience with leading audits, budget responsibility, Mishap prevention/investigations.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP/ASP).
Experience in Operational incident reporting and investigation process.
Green Belt/Black Belt Certified.
